Well, I like both Dante and Vergil in the same way... But I prefer the serious personality of Vergil, and his fast moves, wielding a japanese katana and doing several cuts with one swing are magnificent characteristics for a warrior, in this case a darkslayer... Dante is cool too, he uses more brutal strentgh than fast strikes but he's pretty fun to play with as well... Nero is something new, new system, new tricks! XD

if vergil and dante will come togheter, they will make a gr8 team. vergil is the brain, dante is the physical power. Don't you see this?? Vergil's Yamato is maked and used for strategyes and tricks. Dante's Rebelion is for hack&slash.

I think it is funny how Vergil is more popular than the series protagonist Dante. Vergil's character on Mugen is so good, Dante doesn't have a good character on Mugen. Serves him right! Vergil > Dante

It's also funny since Vergil is an INCREDIBLY stale archetype. The "Guy with a katana who moves super-fast and cuts you a bunch of times in one move" appears over and over again throughout anime and video games and manga, and that's (almost) all Vergil IS - you have to look into the subtext of his lines (or add your own) to give him any real personality. Without that, he's a boring, generic character, and he's STILL more popular than Dante! it says something about the fans, really.

Suppose I should have said "It says something about us" since I love the DMC series far too much for it to be healthy, but I'm a bigger fan of Dante than Vergil. Not that it's obvious or anything, hah.

@Pyre On a side note, Dante was well presented in DMC1, in DMC 3 and 4 he appears to be...incredibly shallow and that was a bit irritating (especially the ridiculous cutscenes!!!!). Dante is way more fun to play than Nero or Vergil so I love Dante for playing purposes. I too am too invested in DMC but not nearly as much as I am in Ninja Gaiden and God of War, just love the 3rd person action games in general.

@Pyre I know he really is a generic sort of character but I guess it showcases how the DMC people managed to make him relate-able and appealing. On paper he seems one dimensional but the character manages to not be a complete failure in actuality...kinda surprised me. I rarely sing the praises of characters but Vergil kinda grew on me...its like the whole Kratos thing in GoW. People are attached to him even though he is the generic psychotic hollywood "badass".
