Rick Wright's Wet Dream and David Gilmour's first solo album (virtually recorded simultaneously) could have passed as a proper Pink Floyd album. Why Roger Waters rejected many of Gilmour and Wright's ideas was that he developed an ego trip during the making of Animals. I can still play Wet Dream and Gilmour's self-titled regularly whereas I have to be in a mood to play Roger's albums (exception is Amused to Death) and also find The Final Cut a weak album (sans Not Now John, Your Possible Pasts).
David and Richard have a love for the same notes and chords. As they have said so themselves, they had a musical affinity which was exclusive to them in the band; each knew where the other was going musically.
David must have been ripped apart when Richard died and, being a massive fan of David knowing that it must have been so breaks my heart.
The true poet of Pink Floyd... the humble master of the emotional core of Pink Floyd . Thank you Rick, -and now you make me cry once more...goodbye great poet - i know you have wings now.
Ha ha . are you people serious? Gilmour's guitar was very influential. I dont think you can put Wright above Gilmour. Matter of fact, you shouldnt put any of them above each other. A band takes all components clicking or it doesnt work. Waters brilliant personal lyrics. Gilmours other worldly guitar work. Wrights dreamy keyboards. mason's crashing drums. they all make it Pink Floyd.
All you to can do is introduce the kids to Pink Floyd and the associated parts of PF and they will live on forever.
I was just having a chat with some about this. The Beatles will live on forever. PF is starting to vanish already. We can't let that happen. 50 years from now PF may be forgotten because they do not get the media attention like the Beatles STILL do.
Kids on youtube still make Beatles videos yet almost zero PF videos.
Beauteful song... Rick was the best, but all of you who don't like Waters, why not? He and Syd was the most crazy in the group, and thank's to them, there is the floyd music we all love=)
@MissusClegg I have much respect for Roger! His songwriting is very touching and speaks to many people, but his controlling and whiny attitude is what drove Pink Floyd apart.
@MissusClegg yes very beautiful i like roger Waters but talk to much about politic i saw rogers waters 15 times and always he mention the wars or politic any way excellent song ****** 5555
I wasn't happy when Waters left, with an Ego that He was Bigger than the band.... That's why.... Pink Floyd was a Single Being... as a Group, they were One.... On his own, he's just a guy alone.... Like Fingers make a hand, One finger alone says F' You to the world.... lol....
this album is good but i prefer wright with pink floyd especially in dark side of the moon and on wish you were here...he was more spacey and trippy i prefer the psychedelic side of floyd.eitherways he was a great keyboard player...
I love Rick Wright, he's soul of Pink, Roger is heart of Pink, David is eyes of Pink, Nick is Ears of Pink, and last but not least, Syd is Finder of Pink !!!
If only he had called it 'Ocean Dream' or 'Mediterranean Dream' instead of the rather naf 'Wet Dream' then it may well have been more a more recognised piece of work and sold in greater numbers!!
Posted this awhile ago on a another "Holiday" video.I was cooking my father dinner one night while this song was playing. All thru dinner my dad kept singing one line..."SAIL ON ACROSS THE SEA",over and over and over again.I looked at him and said,"POP ARE YOU OK" he said "YEA,I LIKE THAT SONG" I said "WELL SING IT IN TUNE THEN"he responded, "BOY I'M 83 YEARS OLD,I'LL SING IT THE WAY I WANT"....R.I.P RICK
floydman1: aw c'mon... you gotta admit you've always had a laugh at the title of the album. And an occasional laugh is ok (especially to accompany such a serious album)!! I actually like the title. heh
Muito bom!!!

Yeah...I had a hell of a time looking for a download of the album "Wet Dream"!
And then my friends ask: "What are you listening to?" "Wet Dream." And of course they're just looking for an excuse to take it wrong...
