I agree. An unicameral Parliamentary system with multiple parties allows at least a chance of voter power. The Senate is particularly useless. Why are states like Alaska and Wyoming, with so few citizens, having the same amount of senators as states with significant many folds more of citizens?

Well, the Senate gives each state equal representations with two officials.....The house of representatives, however, is based on population.......so there is your answer and frankly that makes it fair.

My problem with this system is the election process, the career politicians who do damage to our country, and organizations that thrive off of the two party system like TYT, FOX, CNN, MSNBC, rush limbaugh, glenn beck..

I know that's the justifier but I don't buy it as fair. I think the framers were very bright men but they did not have a perfect formal system. Take for instance the birth requirement for POTUS which was designed to shut out Alexander Hamilton.

Why are the Democrats rigging the system? Why are there only 2 voices? The problem with the USA is the most of the people in this country are retarded and don't vote based on the candidates policies. Interestingly - I was in Vienna and by accident saw a placard which said in German Social Security is the surest foundation to Democracy - I think the European model has that built into it. Their democracies with social and health security seem to work better - even though I don't think Europeans are more intelligent or were less like sheep.

I don't think they work better. Europe is economically stagnant compared to the rest of the world and is based upon protectionism rather than competitive innovation. It isn't a viable in the long term.

I am not sure that the economics would be different with an imperial presidency and a weak parliament. The German economy which is the driving force of Europe - has been absorbing a 33% increase in population who were living in a failed economy (the DDR) and that weight has dragged its economy down but not out. If either the British or the USA had had to do the same they would be basket cases.

If economies were the defining point of creating constitutions then a bit of "Socialism with Chinese Characteristics" would be in order. Not what I would call a good model but they have the most dynamic economy on the planet.

I think the European model does work better, that's why the Euro hammers the Dollar. Europe has no natural resources and higher minimum wages meaning they're industries are not as competitive therefore they have to rely on innovation. which is helped by less of a stifling coporate monopolisitic influence on government. I think Europe is less protectionist too, there is no European equivalent to 'Buy American' because EU doesn't have the resources to be self sufficient.

Well, I think the Euro is hammering the Dollar because of the consequences of a bad US economic and fiscal policy . It isn't really to do with anything Europe has done particularly well.

Europe may not have an explicit "Buy American" clause but then it does have the Common Agricultural Policy and Tariffs which promote the existance of inefficent farming industries at the expense of cheaper goods from other places.

Swanson, in minute 7:05 - 7:15, referred to military enterprises and the healthcare industry, as weapons makers and the sickness industry. That is a more accurate description of them. He is very right. Most people that support the Democratic Party are great at getting Democrats elected when the Republicans overstay their welcome, but they fail to follow through, and thus Democratic leaders eventually end up doing their corporate taskmasters bidding anyway, because we don't put pressure on them.
