It doesn't surprise me that Claude Verlinde is Flemish. After seeing a number of his paintings, I notice stylistic similarities to Breughel the Elder and his figures' faces are reminiscent of Bosch. These are stark and lush at the same time. They make me think that there's another time line where that art of the last 500 years didn't happen. I'm amazed.
