Writing challenges for left handers

I'm a lefty who loves to wright( in the middle of a story on page 50, yes I wrote it) and my hand is always covered in led! It so annoying

I always just wrote until i couldn't reach any farther then picked up my hand and moved it and i kept my hand below what i was writing so my hand would always be over blank paper, never over what i was writing. Never smudged ink once in my life.

i write perfectly with my left hand now, but when i was younger....i had issues. especially with markers. i would always make a mess :(

They lie! I write like a right hander in a mirror, no one taught me any left-handed writing tricks and my English and Chinese handwriting doesn't turn out like Arabic characters

it is true that it is more challenging. my writing (left handed) is better than most right handed penmanship and this is only because I tried so hard and adapted as best I could. fountain pens and calligraphy are most challenging due to the mechanics of the tools and positions.

Yeah,that's true. I get those ink/marker marks on my left hand whenever I use a pen or a marker.

I'm left handed and I turn my paper sideways to write...when it showed the kid coloring with the markers and the side of her hand was covered in marker I laughed because I do that all the time...lol

Just because you don't doesn't mean no-one else does. These problems appear mainly when you're starting to write. They don't seem to have that problem anymore because they've found the right way for them to write. What's with all the hate?

@AtomTofu Well yeah, when we have been writing like that sense we are little,when we grow up is no problem!. And not for everyone is the same.

It is still very uncomfortable cause I smudge the letter when I'm writing with pen and when I'm writing with pencil I end up with my hand gray -_-.

Actually I have problems with smudges and I usually angle the paper almost horizontally but good for you!

It's true, try to write Arabic or Hebrew and you'll see that it's easier, i know you don't know how, but just try to write from right to left and you'll see the difference.

@AtomTofu Well it kind of is. Such as in spiral notebooks you hands hit the spiral. The ink from your pen always smudges and your paper looks messy. You can't write in binders. I really hate being lefthanded.

when i usea pencil in school at the end of the day i look at my hand and there is a big black smear on it. its soo frushtrating. i have to ask the teacher to go to the bathroom so i can get it off. i hate it!

I smudge the paper with pens but i have really neat hand writing anyway so you see the smudges. It s still easy to read though.

Yeah..i'm a lefty too..and always got my work smudged..the best way to not smudge your work is by using a ball point pen..not the ink type as it takes a while for it to dry...

I used to write with the hook style. My teachers always make stop using that style of writing, why? I dunno. But sometimes I catch myself using it. Just takes so bloody long to write. Just don't use ink. The best to use is a duller pencil. It won't pierce the page and mistakes are less noticable.

fuh. i'm left handed and i've been drawing since first grade, and i'm an animator now. yeah i write weird like that, but i've somehow overcome the "smudge" problem. the "problem" has never been one for me. left-handed people tend to be more interesting
