  • ^ why are you talking to yourself???

  • @therealnpc ...read the content and understand...that and working with kids for 20+ years has given me a quite the sense of humor. :)

  • I use the chorus to help develop coordination and midline crossing! This helps with anything from attention span to handwriting. I change the lyrics to criss-cross, criss-cross, criss-cross apple sauce. I can move my arms like this....(or legs, or hands ect.) It's like musical brain gym exercises.

  • @Megtunes Wow. The world needs to know more about music therapy! Spread the word

  • Hi. Here's how I use this song. I use it to help kids learn to decipher the meaning of directions through adaptation of the lyrics. I change up the words like: When I clap, I clap my hands...that is how the music flows. Then I sing about each kid during the chorus like: "Henry's clapping and Jill is clapping...." They love it. My older kids can follow two directions ie: clap your hands then stamp your feet.

  • @Megtunes Dang, that's brilliant! Sometimes we use this tune during instrument play. I'll sing something like "Shake it! Shake your maracas!" and use the chorus to reinforce attention and listening ..."Play louder, louder, and softer, softer...." And you certainly can sing about each child's instrument choice and method of playing during the chorus. Meg is strumming, strumming. I like the oral motor/artic idea, though.
