Palaces built only by power hungry human beings who have high thirst of having material life. In fact their knowledge or their evolution are too little. They are not deeply aware of that material world is indeed temporary and vanishes in a blink of an eye. We are still barbarian and have low concious mind. hope to see the world that majority of human beings are grown then that day is end of palaces too.

What progresses was that? 2/3 of the country had no electricity or running water, 50% of food was imported. He only built himself palace after palace and squadered billions on obsolete US weapons.

Look at these houses - They're nothing close to what a real palace is. And to think of how the western media used to criticise the Shah for living a "lavish lifestyle". Their own monarchs own several palaces, each with at least 100 rooms!

I lived in Iran during the Shah´s time and witnessed the Islamic revolution. I am glad that they didn´t destroy that patrimony of their nation, as they did in 1979 when they sacked and the Niavaran and Saadabad palaces in Tehran, and destroyed uncounted works of Persian art. Makes me a bit sad though seeing this nice video.
