It was ruled by the Ottomans, who the Arabs didn't like (and the Turks HATED Arabs), until the end of World War 1 when they had the place as mandates until their independence 20 years later... hardly enough time for a new born child to reach early adulthood. Somebody implied Coke was "stolen" by foreigners...remember, during WWII Coke made deals to follow the US Army on its drive through Europe, supposedly so their portable bottling centers could give war-weary GI's their favorite drink.
