  • Hmm... We were taught not to swing our arms. Still looks good though

  • nice job i'm in colorguard too nice commands! i'm just starting commanding

  • Boricua!!!

    That is hot!!!

  • Thanks!

    BORICUAA!!

  • any of u in varsity cg?

  • dude really the texas color gaurd competition go to vandenburgs it sick c/ssgt breedlove

  • I'm in Colorado and I'm the state flag bearer in my cadet squadron's color guard, we're going for our next competition win!

    C/A1C Klein

  • how come puerto rico never puts in a color guard team anymore? and you guys werent at ncc 08 this year either...

  • i dont know why...

  • cause they suck, first off on the abouts they sped up and you do four steps in mark time, then 8 steps to complete a half about,16 for a full.

  • theres no specifics on how to do abouts id think i know

  • why do you think you would know? I was just on the team that placed 3rd in florida wing,i know 3rd sucks but hey,i know what i am doing.

  • i'm c/macrini, the commander of the new york wing color guard, that just won the 2009 national competition.

  • North East won Nationals?

  • half left about, eyes right, ready front. They video cut those off, they would have been next. Did color guard back in 2004.

  • the video is not complete... b/c the camera had no batteries so it cut off... but other than that... did u like it?

  • lol that made my day, Hav leb abot, I was the MS wing color guard commander years ago, and we used to have fun with the Puerto Rico wing. Those guys were great, I wonder if they still tuck there ties inside their pants =)

  • The American Flag is supposed to be higher than any other flag. Other than that it was flawless.

  • not when u carry it on a color guard team, when its posted on a flag pole then yeah it is.

  • no the american flag is still higher, and to motleymadman25 he didnt call forward on the 6th step and harch on the eighth of the abouts and they sped up their cadence a lot on the abouts

  • Good show. Seems like a squared away team there. One small suggestion. Practice cadence for both quick time and mark time(100-120 steps per minute) both should be consistant. Often, as with your team, people tend to mark time faster than a regualr march. Practicing with music forces you to keep the same pace.

  • Who is the commander here? The voice sounds really familiar, just like Luis Colon's actually. This is and excellent standard! Flag control at the beginning is a little scary though.

  • i thought arm swing werent allowed....

  • but it is allowed :D

  • really? hmmm....

btw is anyone going to ncc this year?

hopefully az 302 color guard goes to national...

but region is still in the way

  • this video is from last year's wing competition... this year another team is going to region... hopefully to national

maybe rules for this year's competitions have changed a little...

but at least last year, arm swing was required

  • I would say region is most definitely in the way. You still have Texas to deal with!

  • lol hope to see you in Louisiana then

  • That was just a general comment. Texas and Arizona have produced the SWR color guard for many years and the competition won't be any easier this year. I will not be at the competition this year though.

  • lol.... but last years champs from tuscon have been mostly disbanded, 3 of their members have left color guard, 2 went into the sun gods drill team...

  • That's 5 members, teams are only 4. I don't get it.

  • woops i meant 2 of the 3 that left

  • Left CAP completely or just color guard? That's kinda weird.

  • Did they leave CAP completely or just color guard?

  • Did they completely leave CAP or just color guard?

  • sorry for so many comments, they aren't showing up on my computer

  • wow.

    funny story

when we were riding in our van to the competition we all had to make sure that our ids were all good. so half way there they said that one of the colorguard memembers didnt have it up to date so they were like SUBIN ur going in and in like WTF i didnt even get to go to all the pt events X_X so anyways we won everysingle event at the competition but the 1 mile run XD

    just wanted to share that

  • Outstanding As a Colorguard commander this is probably best standard drill I have seen. One thing though during your abouts you speed up just a little bit. I know its hard but you have to try to keep a steady cadence throughout all drill movements. Other than that outstanding job.

  • yea i agree

you speed up a little in the turns as well as seperated (two one the outside seperated from the inside two) GREAT command voice clear and snappy

i am in CAP... i was kida disapointed with my schools jrotc program but you should join the CAP squadren their in porto rico their colorguard IS AMAZING they go to nationals every year... im goin to nationals next year ive been seconed to california for too long

  • OMG look air cadets O.o

  • oh! that's nice. in my school there's an army jrotc but... i dont know... i dont like it. my brother's there but... whatever they dont convince me... but i'm glad you liked it... lol

  • just curious. i was in color guard in high school in southern california.

  • in the Civil Air PAtrol? or in other program?? did u like it?

  • oh no. i was in jrotc it was army. yea i liked all of the competitions we ussed to go to.

  • where is this at?

  • This competition was held in Puerto Rico, Punta Salinas Air Force Base. Why?

  • I know you won National. Thanks for putting up the video. You look great.
