Soviet army never build up to invade USA land by continuation war.This task needs very big and powerfull fleet. Only USA have such capabilities ( i mean creating big invasion across the ocean). In 40-50th Nato had a plan of big scale invasion of Soviet Union after series of nuclear strikes (if only allies could have 10:1 ratio in nuclear warheads).Soviet Union didnt has such plans. This didnt happened only because USSR hardly build warheads trying to hold equality and parity with the west.

I'll agree with you about the plot holes; they were probably throwing something together that sounded workable.

Heard that a lot of Chinese are being left behind in China' new wealth boom, make of that what you will.

There’s been a silent partnership being developed between three powerful countries, they are: China, Russia, and Germany via the above mentioned. China has just signed one of the worlds largest oil contracts with Russia. German has stated they want nothing and have also signed a lucrative contract. So, ya, that’s a dangerous trifecta.

Honestly, I have this visual in my head where I see the US being the ‘bully’ who’s about to get his ass kicked, by the Russians, and I for one welcome it.

something about this scene just makes me think about all of war the world has ever had. here they are just this small group talking about the world at war once more again. it fells like a human connection n such strange ways 2 show how humanity will an can act n such a crysis against many others n such small groups. learning an knowing d enemy ahead of time. it just shows how smart we are and how great we r at working together. if only d world worked together with this ability againts aliens lol

I will admit that the US did this in WWII but that is nearly irrelevant since on both fronts we did have assistance. In this (and the 80's) day in age, we have RELIABLE radar, not like in Pearl Harbor in 1942. The nuclear age is very much and has been upon us since the 60's at the absolute latest. It is a good film I will give you, but just not possible. I guess the problem I have is that I value realism too much. There is plausible and possible. This film is neither.

There is ONLY about twenty miles "maybe a little more" seperating Siberia and Alaska. The only thing that makes this impossible is the Enemies lack of troop transports and air superiority. If these two conditions were met an Alaskan invasion becomes more feasible.

One of my primary beefs with the film, and I do have many, why does the Soviet Union try to invade China? There is no endgame to it other than to expand the plot line. I mean, in itself, invading a country on a different continent is pretty much impossible (even in that day and age). I mean, a two front was (arguably) close to being won, but a three front war (east coast US, west coast US, Chinese border) is virtually impossible. In essence, sadly to say, it's just US-Soviet cold-war propaganda.
