The Porsche has all wheel drive which will allow each wheels to get a different amount of power to it depending on the amount a traction. And with the engine in the back more weight is on the rear wheels giving them more traction. The Corvette being a front engine rear wheel drive car is at the disadvantage because more weight is in the front while the wheels that are powering it are in the rear. If the they really want to win Chevrolet should either make it all wheel drive or rear engine.

Yeah? GM posted a video to back up its 7:19 lap with the ZR1. I have seen NO video to back up Porsche's 7:18 time. Secondly, it's a $245,000 car NOT a $120,000, therefore it should be nicer. However, I don't think it's that much nicer and looks are your opinion, not everyone agrees. You can buy two ZR1s for a single GT2 and as far as faster in most tests the fact it's RWD makes it slower than the normal TT 911 and much closer to the ZR1. Why am I referencing the GT2? Btw Motor trend, this is not the quickest manual transmission vehicle you've tested. How soon you forget the Lingenfelter C5 Vette you tested up against the blue hornet jet Fighter and the Vette won. If I remember correctly, the Vette went 0-60 in under 2 seconds and went through the 1/4 mile in about 9.5 seconds. That's something a porsche won't ever do.
@motley1989 They are most likely referring to stock "production" cars.. The Lingenfelter C5 was worked up in the aftermarket with god knows what.. And with a 0-60 time you say of under 2 seconds, I'm certain drag slicks were on that long list of mods... So, It does not count.

Hands down, I would take the porsche. Overall, better quality and build than the ZR1. never took a liking to the body panels really. Felt very plastic and the porsche also offers in-control handling, luxury, and a classy image the vette cant provide.

The Porsche has all wheel drive which will allow each wheels to get a different amount of power to it depending on the amount a traction. And with the engine in the back more weight is on the rear wheels giving them more traction. The Corvette being a front engine rear wheel drive car is at the disadvantage because more weight is in the front while the wheels that are powering it are in the rear. If the they really want to win Chevrolet should either make it all wheel drive or rear engine.

i really do wish that gm would finally do something to change the corvette, they should make the front end a hair longer push the engine further back, a wider rear track, little wider wheels, better interior quality furnishings and a twin turbo small block v8 like a 5.7 and direct fuel injection, vvt that would really help, they cant ever modernize there car, they use the same ancient tech all the time, with the exception of the suspension they use. Yeah? GM posted a video to back up its 7:19 lap with the ZR1. I have seen NO video to back up Porsche's 7:18 time. Secondly, it's a $245,000 car NOT a $120,000, therefore it should be nicer. However, I don't think it's that much nicer and looks are your opinion, not everyone agrees. You can buy two ZR1s for a single GT2 and as far as faster in most tests the fact it's RWD makes it slower than the normal TT 911 and much closer to the ZR1. Why am I referencing the GT2? Btw Motor trend, this is not the quickest manual transmission vehicle you've tested. How soon you forget the Lingenfelter C5 Vette you tested up against the blue hornet jet Fighter and the Vette won. If I remember correctly, the Vette went 0-60 in under 2 seconds and went through the 1/4 mile in about 9.5 seconds. That's something a porsche won't ever do.

The results would've been pretty much the same if they used a 911 Turbo S. The Turbo S would've been faster on the drag (whoop dee doo), and the ZR1 would've been faster on the track.

@Sal30 Last I checked, the ZR1 has been posting laptimes very close to the GT2 RS' now that it has Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires as an option. What's the price difference between the two? Oh yeah, a shitload. Not trying to downplay the GT2 RS. I would take one in a heartbeat over a ZR1 if money wasn't an issue.

@Sal30 No you are wrong, the zr1 is alot faster than the gt2 rs, and the reason they used the turbo with manual is because it is the closest in price. I love the porsche dont get me wrong its my second favorite car in the world. but the zr1 is a better car. ive driven both i own a 2008 zo6 and love that thing it never gives me troble. my friend owns an 07 911 carrera s and hes always talking about it needing work done. other than that the zr1 is slower than the turbo s becasue of the pdk and awd

@TheGMCBoii false, there is a race on youtube of a gt2 beating a corvette zr1 in a race. And, I find that weird that his 911 is giving him problems seeing as porsche is one of the most reliable companies.

@TheGMCBoii where the hell did you saw a zr1 faster than the GT2 RS??, you can verify the 0-60: 3.7 corvette/3.4 gt2, in every acceleration test the porsche wins, look at the times at the nurburgring: a whole 8 seconds between the two cars: 7'18" porsche and 7'26" for the corvette..i don't understand some weird and strange things people say sometimes, i thought we've exceeded this ignorance level
