  • was'nt he sufi?

  • @MsSmokeNmirrors i <3 Rumi.

  • Rumi was not muslem he was a profet him self he fighted islam his way of thinking is very much kind of Buddhism and he was from Balkh witch was a center aeria for buddhism in many hundred years! he had ti survive the Islamist and shariya at the time to give his massage to the people! but any way he said he was not turk or persian or arab or muslem or any thing like that he love belonget to his beloved !

  • If you are truly interested in Rumi and Sufism I recommend you to search on google for:

    Sufi for a Month.

Sufi for a Month is a spiritual and cultural immersion experience into the sufi way and the universal spiritual teachings of Mevlana Rumi. A very unique experience....

  • Thumbs up, if you feel embraced by Sufi mysticism and its fragile touch on your soul regardless of the various differences!

  • Rumi is of course a Persian poet after all and have all his teachings from Persian culture

  • Beautiful. We humans are different in a lot of ways to eachother though due to cultures and government rulings. When we are children we can all seem to love and share and play with eachother with none of the culture barriers but as we get older, we tend to forget and take for granted these happy past times. That is a great pity as perhaps we could then not forget how to love eachother and not create wars and hatred.

  • Poem to an absent soul-mate - I walk alone. You bless me not with your presence. You leave me by myself. Are you someone I meet? What? That's just a mirage haunting me. Darkness has followed me all the days of my life. I will look for love by those that I stumble upon. Why should I not be angry? I have counted on nothing. Please grace me. If not then enlighten me. This image could have been a friend. She could have been reason. I walk around helpless and hopeless. Do you care LOVE?

  • “Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it” Rumi. For more quotes and stories please check out my website freespiritualways

  • BEAUTIFUL!!!!1

  • Comment removed

  • So beautiful!

  • Wonderful !!!

When the love coming no matter what color you are that is no boundaries and you be blinded no matter who you are.

All human is the same is one, no matter who there are as long love in their heart so peace will be anywhere.

  • i just wanted to say i found this video and i was truly amazed!

  • This is my all time favorite !

I agree when it comes to emotions, love, and experiences we are all the same irregardless of our color, religion, or gender.

  • @iamloveandpeace You're in a Big Mistake

  • sounds like songs of soloman

  • I am the moon and your moonlight too

I am your flower garden and your water too

I have come all this way, eager for you...

I am not muslim but I have read quite a lot of Rumi's poems via YouTube and find them inspiring and beautiful. When it comes to human thoughts, feelings and emotions then we are all the same. We are all made of the same flesh and blood and experience similar trials & tribulations in life no matter our class, colour or creed.

  • @LaFarfalla246 sen böyle yazınca ben utandım, onu yaşadığı topraklarda yaşıyorum ama onu senin kadar tanımıyorum :(

  • @LaFarfalla246 well That Rumi is a high level of Inner Tasawuff Islam. You should know this.

  • @LaFarfalla246

i'm not muslim but loved your good words

  • Like it a lot :-)

  • this is one of my favorite cd's - thx for sharing this. I'll use this to share the cd with others as an example!

  • great mix of sound and photos

  • Thanks for the beautiful poems and montage.

  • amazing

  • Thank you, Thank you, Bless you, Thank you.....I am humbled by this blessed video....Rumi still lives today in our hearts who can hear him.....his message will live forever....

  • the beauty of this specific video is that rumi wrote the lyrics, deepak chopra and madonna recited. if i tried i dont think i could mingle such diversity and the common ground here is a message of love. who the heck cares where rumi came from. whether his skin was grey or gold or scabbed or luscious. he was a man of God. celebrate in love and forget the small stuff. yall that are fighting over claiming him should not be watching this video because you miss the point totally.

  • THANK YOU !!!

  • The worst place to fight over race, nationality, and color of skin and racial purity, is a message board on the poetry of someone like Rumi who transcended race, nationalitiy and ethnicity.. His nationality was love of God and people regardless of country, race , religion.. etc.

It is really a pity and a shame to forget all the greatness in rumi and fight over petty things.

Rumi belonged to God, now he belongs to every human being. He was a true muslim. I wish every muslim was similar to him.

  • wow your post gave me goosebumps. i wish more muslims were like you. salaam.

  • I just love those poems; they deeply touch my soul. Rumi was one of the most wise men on earth. because of his very close connection with the Divine. PS Where does Rumi belong to? Listen to him: I feel at home where-ever I am. He belongs to the place called Love.

  • Why are you losers trying to claim Rumi?

Even if God was your cousin, you would still be the loser that you are.

It's clear as daylight he was born in Balkh. Now, where is Balkh?

  • Shut the fuck up, buddy!

Balkh was the capital of Bactria.

Gayiran had nothing to do with it.

  • iran was part of Iraq at the time of Babylon.

    Iraqi state.

  • Iranians Migrated from north and form Iran 7000 years ago .

Meads are todays Kurdestanies which are also Aryans.

FYI Babylon did not go any farther then meads.

U must be referring to Al bath History and not the real history.

  • Northern Iran was Media (Kurdistan), south-east was Baluchistan, and north-east was part of Bactria.

Speaking of literacy, re-read your comment, and hang your head in shame.

  • Only silence is the response to ignorance

  • I Believe so!

  • You are sure he was not green or blue?

  • And now, you disgust me enough, are happy that you arenot living in the country I live in! You are stupid and dangerous!

  • What ignorant and infantile people you are, you should be ashamed that you can insult each other in this way. Grow up we are all born on the same ground and come out of our mothers in the same way.

  • Mawlana Jalaluddin Rumi.(

for ppl who seen this vid ,,

    HE AN AFGHAN PURE

    farsi speaker,

yeh he born same city az me and my rest my family born in afghanistan city name balkh ,,

  • Mawlana Jalaluddin Rumi.( the origin name is: Mevlana Muhammed Celaleddin-i Rumi) what is rumi?rumi is a Turkish word thats mean is Anatolian .He is not arab or persian or afghan. He is Turkish philosopher, poet, islamic jurist & mystic. He is first Humanist in this world. he lived in Konya (Turkey) and there have a museum about him (Mevlana Museum).

  • Get lost Turkeh Khar, Rumi was not a TURK, goddamn Turk. He was not even born near todays Turkey, his lived in Turkey because he was offered a lot of money & to become a teacher & have a school, why dont you try reading about his life before talking bullshit TURK.

Just because you speak Parsi, it does not make you Iranian or Persian.

  • Mawlana Jalaluddin Rumi.(

for ppl who seen this vid ,,

HE AN AFGHAN PURE NOT IRANI ,,,,,,

sure he was farsi (dari) speaker,

  • he was a legend. a true poet.

  • yeh he born same city az me and my rest my family born in afghanistan city name balkh ,,

  • I am not from India, nor China, nor Bulgaria, nor Turkistan;

I am not from kingdom of the two Iraqs, nor from the earth of Khorasan.

    Neither of this world am I nor the next; nor of heaven nor hell;

Nor from Adam nor Eve nor of Eden, nor paradise or its porter.

    -Rumi

  • well he is afghan for sure that all matter to me

  • hey, you will never understand Rumi !!!why? because you don't know antything about Rumi, if you'd know something about Rumi then you would not be talk dirty (talk billingsgate ) with peoples.

  • I have read Rumi & have many books of his, in English & Parsi.

What have I said dirty about rumi, are you an idiot?

  • okay 1st who are?

2nd are irani or afghani ? 3rd are from perisa mean do speak farsi? like u not mix with arb turk azrb jew? and pakis. if not then i respect u wat u saying. it is just now days anyone can be perisa or anyone speak farsi they call afghan none perisa or aryen ,,so if u and ur father and rest of ur family born in iran and speak faris like my family then sure ur a perisa and we are the same like u said i love my own ppl and pure farsi speaker not them news one, so hafuz is irani

  • What are you talking about? Who is mixed with turk & Arabs, are you out of your mind?

Iranians speak Parsi, Arabs do not have the letter P to say Parsi.

Cambridge University did a DNA test on Iranians today and they found we have the same DNA as our ancestors during the Sassanid era.

Are Europeans Mongols or Arabs because they were invaded? Are Chinese Mongol or Manchurian because they were invaded?

  • @Sexybk2011

afghan means pashtun. Rumi was not pashtun, he spoke not pashtun, his poems are in persian language, not in pashtun a.k.a afghan/pathan language. Also the country afghanistan is not older than 150 years, it dint exist in time of Rumi.

The area where Rumi was born was known as Iran and as Khorasan. This is not personal or because of nationalism, but some brothers should tell the truth and should stay objective when talking about history.

  • Rumi is a tongue which speaks nothing but heart, he does not belong to one place. He is like an air which moves around and soothes (ailing hearts) wherever needed

  • Once you try to limit Rumi you lose him. He is universal and belong to all mankind that believe in love is the way. Doesn't matter wether he is Persian, Turkish etc. He transends all that.

  • Rumi is amazing

  • Matchless! 10*

  • Madonna's voice is amazing in this poem.!! Beautifu!!

  • at least she doesnt have the british accent

  • Mawlana Jalaluddin Rumi.( the origin name is: Mevlana Muhammed Celaleddin-i Rumi) what is rumi?rumi is a Turkish word thats mean is Anatolian .He is not arab or persian or afghan. He is Turkish philosopher, poet, islamic jurist & mystic. He is first Humanist in this world. he lived in Konya (Turkey) and there have a museum about him (Mevlana Museum).

  • When you talk about turk, I dont know what the fuch this is. Rumi is a turkish word? what else?

Rumi spoke persian, thought persian, lived in great persia and died in great persia. Although I think we should not persianize his thoughts, an he belongs to all, but these little idiot turks who contaminate the web like flyes, alwayes freak me out.

  • vazvantube you must read a lot of pages about history, you are ignorant and not know anything about history and rumi, you are ignorant and racist!!! i can speak persian then i must be persian?

  • Beautiful voices and music.

Companion... There is no companion but love.

  • Which Rumi - The Famous Arab Poet and Philosopher : Jalal Uddin Rumi ?

  • Yes but he wasn't an Arab :) He was from Balkh, present day Afganistan!

Also he wasn't known so much for his philosophy as much as for his mysticism.

  • Sorry I meant he was "Persian". He was a theologian, was he not?

  • He was, indeed!

    :-)

  • "I'm neither Chritian, nor Jew" (Rumi). Let's say Rumi is universal. I'm Chinese. I think Rumi is Chinese.

  • I am very glad that people know somthing about Mawlana Rumi- Balkhi. People think that all Afghans are terorist, but now you know that Afghans are good, and Afghans have to much good things, like Mawlana Rumi-Balkhi. But the Iranian say that Mawlana is from Iran. Iranian are alweys so people. If a Afghan a good person is, than iranian say that the person is a Irani, and if a Afghan bad person is, than say Iranian that he/ she is a Afghan.

  • T U Kite flyer....! Big HUG TU

  • beautiful words. beautiful video.

    thanks for sharing :)

  • Ah! Mawlana Rumi!

As one learned christian said, "Rumi is an universal bread; everyone must it from it"!

The beauty of Rumi is his ecstatic celebration of Divine love and the essence of ALL universal spiritualities while deeply committed to his own tradition- which no doubt was the spiritual realm of Islam!

  • It is apparent to me that rumi clearly emphasises on the fact that he does not belong to anything boxes. And that in the order to have a clear vision one must be able to be fluid and fill in to different boxes systems of tough there is no good and bad, everything in nature acts according to consciousness provided to have a balanced equation. One cannot ask a maple tree to bloom and fruit apple! As Sohrab Sepehri says: it is not our business to understand the mystery of rose, rather our busi

  • You are right.

  • I don't like Deepak, personally. I don't like his form of spirituality.

  • Weird... This doesn't have anything to do with Rumi

  • The poem is by Mawlana Balkhi. He is born is Balkh- Afghanistan and lived in Qunya, (Rum)- Turkey. Mawlana have to much poems in (dari)language. Dari is the language from Afghanistan.

  • "Now, you should know that Muhammad (PBUH) is the leader and guide.

  • Later in his life he went beyond Islam.

  • Its a pity that people like you are too blinded by ignorance to see the truth. You have no proof to back up your statements, and you just spew whatever you feel like from your mouth! Rumi (R) lived and died as a follower of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) quotes like these are available from his early life to his death... He is a great Muslim saint, and knows Islam, and its true belief.

  • You call me ignorant, perhaps you should consider re evaluating your belief with- in the belief system that you are in. I will repeat what I said. Rumi went beyond Islam. He realized things that are much greater than a single religion. He realized that one doesnt need to go to Saudi Arabia to be a complete Muslim. He found a connection to God and universe within himself.

  • I respect religions for giving hope to ppl for such a long time but they also did some harm by divinding ppl as well. Having said that, I don't believe these books was written by God. They might have been inspired by the divine but there is no way they came from God directly. I also don't believe, Jesus turning water into wine and moses doing miracles. That's just fairy tales.

  • Then I directed my search to the Kaaba, the resort of old and young; God was not there even. Turning to philosophy I inquired about him from ibn Sina but found Him not within his range. I fared then to the scene of the Prophet's experience of a great divine manifestation only a "two bow-lengths' distance from him" but God was not there even in that exalted court. Finally, I looked into my own heart and there I saw Him; He was nowhere else.

  • People like me accept reality. People like me will not be stuck with an idea if there is something better out there. You want proof? Go and read some of his poems about Unity. In fact according to some Islamic leaders he is not considered a Muslim and Muslims shouldn't even read his poems. Now you are going to say, those leaders are stupid and this and that.

  • Rumi lived a life as a Muslim, and died as a Muslim saint! You know nothing about Islam, and you simply judge what you know on Wahabism.

Wahabism and true Islam are completely different.

Rumi wrote fantastic poetry praising the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) during his final days. I have proof to back up my statements... A person like you simply bases his/her statements on whim or what they want reality to be. This is ignorance, and will result in your own demise!

  • I know enough about Islam and enough about Rumi to distinguish one from another. Mohammed was a political leader and Rumi was a spiritual guy who didn't care about converting people to islam. he also thought that all human beings are equal regardless of thier religion. He didn't scared ppl so they convert to islam. He said you will be fine no matter what you believe in.I often hear this statement "you don't know about Islam" Or"They don't know about Islam" or"yeah but they are not true muslims"

  • You know nothing about the greatest of all creation, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)! The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the most HONEST, RIGHTEOUS, PIOUS, KIND, SINCERE, HANDSOME, HUMBLE, JUST, SMART, MERCIFUL, AND HONOURABLE PERSON AND CREATION OF ALLAH.

Rumi knew this, and lived his life according to the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)!

Your lies won't change the truth, and don't try and change the topic, after you have been exposed!

Allah guides those who he wills!

  • Have you read Quran? It scares you to death. You have to believe in it blindly or else you go to hell. I think the religions have made a joke out of God. Quran says " they are blind who doesn't believe in Islam" infact, you are blind if you don't see past Islam. Quran is a political book to trap Arabs to Unite and believe in one thing. If you do read Quran and keep an open mind you will see what I mean.

  • Let the truth be said! And it applies to all of us, even if it contradict with what we believe in. I am not going to sit quite and watch politicians and religious groups taking advantage of naive ppl in the name of God anymore. Perhaps you are too bound by the traps of blind faith that I mentioned. Perhaps you are too scared to question Quran's validity. I think it's ignorant of you to make a statement like "Quran is for all mankind" and not back it up. I will back up my statments.

  • "Allah Guides those who he wills" so you are saying God has some kind of animosity with some of his creation. You are saying God is biased. God only likes muslims. says who? The Quran and prophet mohammed and I have to believe in it or else I am going to hell. Don't you think it's very foolish to think that way?

  • The problem with you guys is that there are different branches of Islam like wahabis, shiats, sunnys, Ismaeli's ans so on but you don't accept each other as being Muslims and then you talk about how great Islam is and how great Prophet Mohammed was. You have a lot of ifs and buts when it comes to answering questions. I also know why you can't accept the truth outside Quran and Islam. That is because the first sentence in Quran says: " you cannot doubt anything in this book" tell me if I am wrong

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks for the prayer, look I have nothing against Islam but I have to tell you I know exactly where you are coming from. you believe in Islam blindly and you ask no question about validity of that religion. I on the other hand don't take anything blindly. I was an ignorant just like you but then I looked around and did some research and found out that all the three religions are just a fairy tale. They are all political games, although at its time, essintial to unite ppl but not anymore.

  • "The Light of Muhammad has become a thousand different branches (of knowledge), and thousand, so that both this world and the next have been seized from end to end.

If Muhammad rips the veil open from a single branch, thousands of monks and priests will tear the string of false belief from around their waists."

    - Hazrat Jalaluddin Rumi (Rahmathullahun)

  • I searched for God among the Christians and on the Cross and therein I found Him not.

I went into the ancient temples of idolatry; no trace of Him was there.I entered the mountain cave of Hira and then went as far as Qandhar but God I found not. With set purpose I fared to the summit of Mount Caucasus and found there only 'anqa's habitation.

  • Why wouldn't you just understand all other stuff that Mawlana said why would you just get stuck in that try to understand the deepness of that come back....come back... come back...

  • Fawadkabuli, What's your point? I don't know what you are trying to say.

  • The central theme and message in Rumi's poems is the smelting of human into the creator by unconditional love - what results in the reunion of human and divine - leading to the consequence that every being is from divine origin, what mankind has forgotten. Being aware of the entity of creator and creation the man, which understood himself as an separated individual begins to awake feeling that the creator has taken place in the human. So the man becomes to the center of his own wheel of life.

  • I think Madonna did a beautiful job. I'm not surprised that she would be touched by Rumi's words and would want to share them in the way that she knows how to create. She is you, just as you are me so why judge her character? Same with Deepak. I'm grateful for their creation and sharing of Rumi's poetry. Only one with an open heart would be so touched by Rumi anyway. Let's enjoy it.

  • Deepak is so contorted UGGGGHHHhhhhh!!!!

  • Deepak has become from those that know him and shall remain nameless more commercial then spiritual.

your right on target , yet we learned what we had too, take what we like and leave the rest. it's our time to step up to the plate and be the teachers we know our own truth and we are the dessert after the main entree ,I keep saying Be the Love and the Love will be there. YOUR IT, I'M IT AND WE ARE ALL IT , BLESSINGS

  • So so beautiful, good!!!1 Thanks friend essahib!!!

  • beautiful; thanks for sharing this essahib

  • Very nice video!!!

  • soooo deep..

  • shams tabriz

  • YAWN

  • I'm surprised that Deeepak chose Madonna to perform with him. A woman that is materialistic, self obsorbed and imports hundreds of birds every year to be shot for sport on her land. Hardly somemone representative of a compassionate or spiritual person!(And who also once wore a coat made of lamb embryo's, DISGUSTING her karma will be good won't it?

  • sHE TOO IS A CHILD OF OUR GOD AND SHE SOUGHT JUST AS YOU AND I, IT'S EASY TO JUDGE AND PROJECT. HAVE YOU SEEN YOUR MIRROR AND DOES IT ANGER YOU, RAISE YOUR VIBRATION AND FORGIVENESS AS YOU HAVE AND ALL HAVE NEVER BEEN FORGIVEN FOR THE UNIVERSAL SOURCE NEVER HAS CONDEMNED , MAY YOUR SOURCE OF ALL, ENLIGHTEN YOU AND OPEN YOU HEART FOR ALL HAVE ROOM TO EVOLVE FROM ANGER SUCH AS SHE!

  • Dont judge me and presume I am angry I was stating a point. (Practice what you preach). Using Madonna (in my opinion is the same as a well known butcher advertising vegetarian products.

  • Like we know Madonna Deeply and her Soul? Do We? know enough to make a judgement as you have every right to be angry too. I do like your analogy like asking a butcher advertise Vegeterian product. That is Classic, Be light hearted , this just caught my attention I love it . and love your comments both . of u and well it's Madonna I say. so what. lol

  • wow... Rumi is great...

i recommend reading book called "Love Poems of Rumi," which edited by Deepak Chopra.

  • Madonna's voice is so soothing and loving...

  • love rumi!

  • great poetry very deep....

  • damn that is deep

  • Beautiful words of wisdom. Divine through and through. Thank you Rumi _()_

  • This is universal wisdom not limited to a particular religion but to all humankind. This is the Holy SPirit speaking through Rumi...

  • absolutely, breathtakingly beautiful....
