You got it all wrong. It's based on Star Trek created by Gene Roddenberry not based on Star Wars created by George Lucas. Star Trek and Star Wars are not based on the same thing. Star Trek takes place in our galaxy, the Milky Way and about the future of humanity where we live in a peaceful Federation and Starfleet where we explore the galaxy....
...and Star Wars is about long time ago in a far far away galaxy where a Republic, Galactic Empire, and a Rebellion is at war with each other, and where Jedi Knights and Sith Lords exist.

JJ Abrams was the Director of the new Star Trek 09 Movie. JJ Abrams stated himself that he is more of a Star Wars fan and thought that Star Trek should be more have more action like Star Wars. He also thought that is should appeal to kids like Star Wars does. So in fact the new movie was inspired by Star Wars. Just look at all the weird aliens and fights. There was not much Star Trek in the new movie (except for the beggining) witch is realy sad because Star Trek is a great thing

Star Trek 1979 was a definitive science fiction adventure in the veign of 2001. Granted it stands out like a black sheep, but the reality is TOS, and movies 2-4 are far more Star Trek than JJ Abrams film. The problem with Abrams film is YES, he was trying to make it have more "rock and roll" as he put it. He reffered to wanting The Enterprise to be more like a "hot rod." It is definately DIFFERENT from most Star Trek, and the way he can remedy that is to do a more intellectual film next time.
Exactly. This new film did feel like classic Trek especially the characters but with a modernize made-over to it and made it more appealing to non fans. I don't care what the picky fan boys say because I have enough of listen to their very annoying nerdy criticizing, whining, moaning, and bitching towards the new movie or to Star Trek Enterprise (starring Scott Bakula as Captain Jonathon Archer) or what other Star Trek that they dislike and complain about.

Okay...hears the REAL explanation.....on the internet...and some places in the news it's said that the new star trek was pretty average in being a successful summer film.....because a lot of kids and families that have never seen it before or had seen star trek tv shows before liked it because they all said it seems A LOT LIKE STAR WARS....believe it or not so their you go.....personally I do see a resemblance in the warp sequence in the new film being alot like sci fi's BattlestarGalactica redo
And if Abrams like star wars more than star trek, why didn't he just lobby to direct the next star wars film, instead of killing star trek?

When doing light flares they need to have a source like a sun or a light on the ship, not just on the side
Also if you do another don't forget to include The new end credits music in the titles
