  • hello, your vidoe is really amazing. but would you pls let me know how do you control the fluid flow? I mean how do you control the different fluids enter the different channels?

  • @cthyao There are microvalves upstream -- see the other videos.

  • @cthyao this is based on laminar flow, whereby in a micro-nano channel, the fluids stick to a path parallel to the channel walls, so by virtue of sequence of flow you would get this kind of distribution. However, this animation is a little too good. Depending on the type of solutions being used and channel lengths, a certain degree of mixing would occur. A more interesting experiment is the seperation of solid particles suspended in a flowing liquid.
