@adamanFTtitwell Personally I don't think they are worth any more than £200. Its a good little toy to mess about with but can be a bit limiting as the sound range isn't that vast. Great for adding little filler sounds, bleeps and basslines. A beginner is likely to be disappointed and is better off with a Juno6.
@andree1991 you have to be more specific if you want real answers to that question, there was so much stuff in the 80s that sounded like crocketts theme, I need more clues in order to help you out but I bet I own the track you are on about....
@W0r5tCaseSc3nar10 I found it,by clicking every single video of a youtube user ,he had like 320....the song i was looking for is Mamma Gamma by the alan parsons project. Thanks for the help though........do you have it?
i have owned this thing for god 5- 6 years and still syncing the LFO to the beat is beyond me. i always have to beat match it by ear. has anyone tried to use the gate or trigger from a 707 or 606 to get the LFO to line up? should be simple but it never works. i don't know of too many other people with an SH to see if their LFO gets synced or not. if that LFO could get on beat it would be seriously deadly. let me know if you have seccess in linking up the main LFO slider to CV. (i have the MSY-2)
@Chiyamaka Like most pro keyboards (other than pro arrangers, which do have internal stereo speakers) it has 1/4" phone out which goes to your amp or mixer. You can use headphones too.
I know it came with a grip and shoulder strap, but I couldn't imagine wanting to walk and dance around stage while carrying that precious piece of machinery
i had the grey version!! (without guitar appendice). The problem with old Roland like the sh 101 is the bad quality of the electronic contacts...But the sound can be terrible!!!!! good for acid music!!
i got one of these for $10, played with it and recorded 6 albums, then sold it to a techno kid for $400. i didn't have the handgrip, and it was gray, but i used the he77 out of it.
Excuse me,i've been looking for a song for more than 7 years but i dont know its name,i remember it included a synthetizer and electric guitar music and a little of drums..it was a kinda old music (just music no lyrics or nothing) 90's or 80's.can someone help me please? it kinda sounded like:cua cua cua-cua cuararan cua cua ua ua!! tararan!!! then drums:tum tum tum tururum then cuan cuan cuan etc..i know it looks stupid but please if anyone knows please let me know, thank you, it was just music
The handle has pitch bend and modulation controls. The machine runs on batteries and can be worn with a guitar strap. Lore has it that it was released at the time roller skating was all the rage and was apparently designed to be played when skating!
@Guakingo I would love to see someone playing this one whilst skating, and struggling with his cables that connect the synth with some speakers, because if you play it, you also want to hear it, i guess? :-)
It sounds excellent. I wish my DX11or my DW8000 had all those knobs and sliders for real time tweaking. I bought a Yamaha CS 5 recently just for the sole purpose of having a synth with more real time tweaking options.
nope man. the ms2000 is 100% digital, no analog components. Its called virtual analog, meaning it (tries to) emulate the sound of an analog synth using computer models.
The original Microkorg is a nice VA synth that is designed to look and feel analogue, and give you good practice at analogue modelling. Sounds great too. Got mine second hand for less than £180. Brand new probably about £300-£350.
well idk myself but i once asked retrosound what would be a good budget synth to start with and he reccomended the sh-101 if i wanted a monophonic synth

Hey retro, wich one has phatter bass or is the better bass synth, the juno 60 or this one? Also,Can you play the 60 on unison mode like the 106?I had a 106 years ago.
you can play the Juno-60 in unisono mode (test mode). The 101 bass is more clean but very deep and thick, the Juno-60 ist more like a Jupiter8 warm and thick. Both synths are great for bass but very different in sound.
Use just the square wave on the source mixer. On the VCO, set the pulse width all the way up and set it to LFO mode. Then on the Modulator, bring up the LFO/Click Rate up to right at or slightly below half way up, and youve got yourself a nice lead sound ;)
love this thing, I might get one. just cause I'm so pissed off by software and my Korg M3. I can't get anywhere without hearing crap all over the bass sounds which I'd never consider using... I need a proper synth just so I can work without having to wade through crap presets, plus it's all there, no hidden menus! digital is driving me insane
