Agree with the protestors: male elephants are NEVER meant to live alone. In the wild, male elephants live in lose groups, with structures & protocols, with the older bulls leading the younger ones who've just been pushed out by their mothers & aunts.
This is well documented in longitudinal male elephant studies in Africa.
They get together with female groups all the time to do carry on elephant mating & group rituals. It is cruel to isolate these highly social & majestic animals like this.
