I personally feel this ad is extremely successful. As a runner and someone who works in marketing, I think this perfectly expresses the way many runners feel and will deeply connect with their target audience. It instantly connected with me. Beautiful, simple and elegant; amazing ad.

Really? It's pretty clear to me that they were advertising running shoes, and I didn't even know ASICS was a shoe brand (I don't pay attention to sneakers at all). It did so in a very stylish, catching way, too.

Here's some ways to improve for next time, as constructive criticisms can help with future ads along the way. Show the band name on the shoes and other appeals in the set up before the guy starts running. Just because you show them at a 90 degree angle, doesn't mean they're clearly visible. A nice one second, at most, shot of the logo will work just fine. Also, a nice tag line at the bottom about running cleansing the body wouldn't hurt so much. I got the idea though but just an FYI for others.

I'm gonna be honest with this comment.  This is one of the worst commercials ever made and here's the reason why. It doesn't so what the product is they're selling. Is it a sports drink? It is a gym membership? If a commercial can leave questions like that wide open then the marketing people failed at an ad. Sorry Shannon. You and your team may have made an eye catching ad with neat special effects, but you lost over half of possible new costumers along the way.

Simple fact. Prior to the creation of ASICS, Onitsuka (founder) had former relations with the founders of Nike. They helped distribute the Onitsuka Tiger shoe but soon broke relation to form their own company, Nike. ASICS aka Onitsuka Tiger brand are still awesome shoes!
