  • LOL @ 01:54 somebody's stupid phone is ringing in the audience...

  • simplemente, mistico viagem ao mundo da mais pura magia

  • there's no a lot of singers with the same voice 25 years after.....!!!

  • Omq I Loved The Flute Solo.!! Ive Only Been Playing For 3 Years So This Is Amazing.!

  • Absolutely love it! rffjr - are you nuts?, or just born too late?

  • You MUST remember... THIS is when music was raw! unfiltered, not digitized and computerized. EXCELLENT! RAW "REAL" Talent, NOT a regeneration of a cute person trying. When music was real AND raw, not digitized and changed to "sound" good on cd

  • great sound for a pirate recording !!!

  • Sorry, this is rubbish. He destroyed his own music.

  • @rffjr You obviously don't know how to appreciate the originality of a surreal song as such.

  • Great!!

  • this song change my life in the past....thak you great Ian Anderson

  • entrancing as a piper can be..i will now become a follower..are you with me...out into the streets..LETS GET IT ON !!!!!!

  • I wish Anderson wouldn't do the "This is my big silver cock" thing, with his flute. It always seemed a little jarring, and now ... it's just not appropriate for an otherwise polite public show. It's not "a rock show" any more, it's a music performance.

  • @Pengochan yeah, he is

  • Diferent and fantastic!

  • SWEET JEATHRO TULL IS ASWOM

  • @ alsaxe

Ian Anderson is trying to change things up. Maybe they don't want to play the same songs the same exact ways every concert. I thought this intro was awesome, but obviously the unique voice he once had is no more.

Stop criticizing Tull, they're overlooked as it is!

  • argh...i'm an old school tull fan from the early 70's...they lost me with a "passion play'..Ian and martin are great musicians.. i fail to understand y they would take a great rock song and turn it into this. Maybe they became bored, who knows...

  • Still makes the flute bad ass

  • This is brilliant! It's a shame the audience is terrible

  • Pretty cool but it kind of is barely Aqualung...dunno man...leaves me cold...I want Aqualung to ROCKKKKK!!! If you know what I mean...

  • Beautiful Performance.

  • This is Aqualung??????

Not if you listen the the Aqualung album. Anderson has taken this once magnificent band and run it into the ground. I've attended close to 50 Tull shows. The first was the A Passion Play tour. I WILL NOT be attending another so-called Jethro Tull show. This is Ian Anderson and Martin Barre, NOT the real JETHRO TULL. How sad.

  • @puseye Are you for real...? We all have to evolve...!

    change is fabulous!

It must be embrace...how can you expect the same after 40 years?...

Aqualung tour was the first time I saw them in germany....now 40 years later I get to see them in Byron bay Australia! And I don't care what they are gong to do with the song! Because its is gong to be amazing and special because it is I an and the band playing it!!!! Do you play an instrument at ll?

  • @kxrono apistefti ekdosi!!!!sigxaritiria gia to upload

  • Absolute mastery.

  • Who is the only Man/Band in history to ROCKIFY the FLUTE??? That's just GUTSY (WHOULDA THOUGHT?). I never knew when i was loving this music in HS that it came out before I was born. IS IAN IN RNR HALL OF FAME? As a flute player I can confirm this solo is just unbelievable. I Bow to theses gods of rock, talent, n creativity. Everyone (btw) KNOWS this song even if they think they don't.

  • His voice is still lovely, just tired.

  • @WoodRatGirl thats rigth... i agree your comment

  • Either Ian was having a bad night vocally or else he really can't sing much anymore - a shame, really. He can still rock the flute, but without the complete vocals, this song loses a lot. Some nice moments, as others have said, but (like with The Who at the Superbowl), it may be time to hang it up - and this show was 3 yrs ago!

  • ok im not a huge fan of this band so i may seem like an ass for asking but what is this song about or is there a vid with lyrics so i can finally be in the know.... thanks

  • @coleycoleyface420

The song and album Aqualung is a concept album, about a man who is so named for his rheumy cough. If you want more info, look up the album on Wikipedia.

  • the flute is actually quite an interesting solo instrument specially

    when this motha playin it!!!!!

  • giati na hmoun ekei gamo ton 8eo mou?giati?

  • i wonder why on compilations you always find locomotive breath and not aqualung... aqualung is way better

  • Hey Aqualung! (sorry i had to)

    awesome song

  • Is there a dvd somewhere available of this performance? its great!

  • thanks for all the comments!

  • Is this the whole performance?

  • (Of Aqualung)

  • If I remember correct, I missed just a few seconds in order to activate the recording.

  • ah...interesting version

  • que wena!!!!!! solo a alguien como yo le puede gustar Jethro tull y el anime...!!!!!!

  • Great Performance, Anderson is wicked as always with the flute,

and @ 1:55 the cellphone ruins it all!

  • Yeah everyone noticed that and it made such a big difference in the sound and appearance of the band and the video alike.

  • I agree with the Russian, it dose need a flutist to be full.

  • Это полный улет! Разве может быть флейтист бесбашенным! Реальный персонаж)))

  • Amazing

  • i dont think that that would be good

althuogh his voice isn´t as good as 25 years ago

it would´t be the real jethro tull without ian on vocals

  • he may be losing his voice, but he should sing, it wouldnt feel right if it wasnt ian.

i just hope he keeps on touring and playing his great music

  • That flautist is my hero man! So cool that a rock band has a flute in it. Awesome!

  • his name is Ian Anderson.

he is the guy who can rock out with a flute, i think the only guy.

  • Great,great comment.

  • heh heh thx

  • how about edgar winter???

  • Yeah...I like Peter Gabriel, too, but he's not much with his flute, unfortunatly.

  • Gabriel completely overrated. Genesis EXPLODED after he left., and Seconds Out with Phil singing was a significant iupgrade. What does anyone think of PG's "cameo" appearances over the years? He got worse, then declined faster

  • Gabriel is a lyrical genius, and works beautifully with Banks, Hackett, Rutherford and Collins. Genesis remained good for the first 2 albums after he left, and the live album was great, too. After that, they descended into pop and yes, it was bad. Peter Gabriel now takes his time and releases fooleries every few years. We are still waiting for another release of 70's-80's quality, or, a reunion of the one true lineup of Genesis.

  • @guijam94

Phil Collins is bloody overrated. Peter Gabriel is not.

  • homelessness

  • Son grandes siempre lo fueron y lo seran por siempre

  • ragazzi, artisti come jan anderson nn ne nascono più. E' straordinario. E pensare ke una volta sua figlia gli disse ke suonava il flauto con 1 impostazione sbagliata delle dita eheheheheheh GRANDIOSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO JANNNNNNNNNNNN

  • Aqualung, probably one of his best albums! Just look at the songs on it.

  • Aqualung is a song about the beggars of the world and what they represent...you need to listen to the entire album, "Aqualung" to get the full idea.

  • We must be watching different videos!

  • the song or this performance of it?

  • The performance. The song is fabulous.

  • i absolutely agree, i posted that last comment while the video was still loading. yuck. did have a few moments, but those were more flute solos than a "song" you know what i mean? like not the whole band, just anderson having a good moment or two

  • The performance is perfect. They have enough originality to not perform the song as it is on the CD. Instead, they made a whole new version of it for this very show. Not only Ian played fantastic melodies with his flute, but Barre also played a fucking great solo, and the whole new concept for the song is perfect. To like it you must know how appreciate this kind of surreal approach to the song. Not everyone is capable of this, though.

  • @PeterVilel cd? well, at least you know who "they" are and can appreciate. btw, i have some vinyl you might enjoy.

  • @hehnr

  • This is the art of music-making, my friend.

  • muito bom!
