I have to make a correction to my earlier comment: Jam & Lewis had their share in producing this song, but credits also go to Rich Cason and Cletus Anderson.

This doesn't sound like a Jam and Lewis production. Even their other early 80s stuff is a LOT more polished than this. This must be two other people calling themselves Jam and Lewis.
Those glitches are what make great music; artists such as David Bowie knew that the synthesizer's value was the funky sounds no other instrument could make- if you wanted to hear a piano, just go and play a piano.
The original cover like a know it. And finally the answer to my question..was that glitch in the bassline direct from the start the vinyl I taped it on to cassette? But I hear the same glitch here again. In fact, if u listen closely you hear they cut it up a lot. Not audible for the untrained ear:)

@thoomolong Well, you better believe it! Although it doesn't sound as smooth as most other Jam & Lewis productions, it really IS!
