  • A lot of bad things happened to me when I was drinking...I havent had a drink in almost a year...Im not depressed anymore and things have become so much clearer.

  • 5:04 whats that song called

  • @vIIGeee psychedelic shack

  • Did someone tell Paul that alcohol and Sickle-Cell isn't a very good mix????

  • I think this is the best song in the whole movie lol

  • damn paul was f..... up

  • @RhynoZeroBlade Oh, and cigarettes will absolutely NEVER be banned, it's a gigantic industry. Like how we've had access to alternatives to oil for years now, but cars are still powered by gas...We will never truly abandon the oil companies because that would leave a huge dent in federal tax money, and leave thousands and thousands without work. Maybe its unfortunate, but thats Capitalism for you.

  • Couldn't Jo have forgiven Otis for 1 little stand with Flo Ballard?

  • @DaveWollenberg why would she do that....she's at home taking care of there child and he's out there sleeping with other women,Hell i know i wouldnt

  • @DaveWollenberg We don't know if O was sleepin' with other women.

  • i use to drink then i took an arrow to the knee

  • eddie like to sugar coat things often or turn a blind eye to the situation

  • does any one know what is the name of the song he sings if it even exists??

  • @15alecks Stevie Wonder's cover "For once in my life"

  • @15alecks Stevie Wonder's "For once in my life"

  • drunk or not that man killed that song <3 till he said FOOOooOR xD <33 mama can i sing in your house? poor pual aka poopie

  • trust alcahol to ruin a gathering

  • Part 3 The last things I want to say about Paul art these: Paul wasn't just put out of the group. After he was no longer able to perform with them, he stayed on as and advisor and a choreographer. And I don't believe the man committed suicide. If you are so distraught that you are going to kill yourself, and you happen to be right handed; are you actually going to pick up a gun and shoot yourself in the left side of your head? Something smells real fishy.

  • Part 2 I don't want to excuse alcohol abuse are try to say that it's alright if you are sick; that's not what I am trying to say at all. Paul just added another problem to the one that he had already. I had to make a comment because I don't think it does any justice to this man's memory for the people who made this mini series to graze over his illnesses like they did and just paint him as a fall down drunk. When the doctor said he was a sick man, he was really sick.

  • People; whenever you see a bio-pic like this, my advice is do research into these people yourself because of the sheer fact that Hollywood has a tendency to over exaggerated or to take things out of preposition for effect or to make it interesting. Even to the point that the will leave out certain information that will be left out. What they didn't say in the movie was that Paul Williams had a dependency on alcohol because he was self medicating himself. The man had sickle-cell anemia.

  • I want to find who this asshole is and pour a bottle of Jager down his throat then kick his ass.

  • what song is he singing at the party with melvin?

  • @JOSEPHHEIMOANA for once in my life

  • @JOSEPHHEIMOANA stevie wonder's "for once in my life."

  • Thanks for the message people that never had to battle alcohol the way some of us have had to and what it has cost and taken from us could never truly know or grasp how it destroys people and yes including drugs so if some one can learn from his life and prevent the same mistakes thank god

  • This whole thing about " Don't drink " was stupid. Using him in a way that was negative is just Heartless,( it's a movie ) everyone drinks, it's a matter of drinking responsibly. Bottoms Up !

  • Ummm did anybody else catch that Eddie called Paul "Poopie" at 2:19?

  • @crazysexy313 LOL yeah

  • @crazysexy313 Btw, I see you are from tha D too =.)

  • @ZigZagWoman yeah i am =)

  • @crazysexy313 I am Gussing that because Paul and Eddie grew up together in Alabama and came to Detroit together that term "Poopie" was a nickname of his!!!

  • How in the HELL does any body know if all of this is true or was it fabricated to draw attention from the real evil one: BARRY GORDY.

  • @stayhungry ahh: It's called "For once in my life" Paul sang that song on national tv and it was the first time anyone could tell that Paul had a problem because he was struggleing a lot to sing

  • It's not a sickness man. It's an addiction. He had sickle cell anemia. That was his sickness. But he was an alcoholic before that. SO therefore....his sickness isnt being abused. It's his addiction. This whole movie should also be an example about using drugs in general (David Ruffin)

  • I didn't really care for the screen message. Using Paul's sickness to send some kind of "Don't Drink" message. Not cool..

  • can someone tell (if you know )what happened to david after they fired him

  • @lovemusic12310 he went on pefroming and still getting high he was killed by i think drug dealers that owed him money.

  • @xPrettyGirlSwaggerx thanks it helped me cleared some air

  • it amazing how the actors use there real voice. I think?

  • Can somebody please tell me that song at 1:01 that paul was singing.? Please.

  • I love the bond that eddie and paul share, all of us need someone like eddie when we're falling down like that. Two of my favorite temptations, and definite legends:)

  • @lovelysexyluck13 Paul and Eddie's relationship is similar to Otis and Melvin's in a way.

  • lol nice accent

  • To mi he sang da song good .... Great job paul ..!!!

  • I love paul ..!!!!

  • What was Paul's story, why was he in so much pain? Did he have health issues?

He's my favorite one. I cried when he commited suicide in the movie :'(

  • @BlkJag08 He suffered with Sickle Cell Anemia and used alcohol as a means of pacifying his pain. I don't know why this wasn't documented within the film because in my opinion, he was inadvertently misrepresented as an aimless alcoholic. His story is unfortunate indeed. A great voice.

  • @AyoKisses "For Once in My Life"

  • To the uploader, thank you for the beneficial warning at the beginning of the video.

  • Paul's story is pretty sad

  • drinkin is koo. but wut what u shulda said was "DONT DRINK N DRIVE"

  • This just made me want a beer.

  • "Mama, Mama can I sang the song?"

  • i love this part sooo much i feel his pain

  • i agree with u Grumberf, thanks to alcohol my father chose beer instead of our family and my parents; its sad when a marriage ends but its more sad when me and my sister want them to divorce, i only approve of champagne and wine; other than that all alcohol and cigarettes should be illegal

  • @RhynoZeroBlade I Don't Aprove Any Drug I'll Should Destroy and bann ever singel Bottle and Cig and Dope anything that makes people turn agains eatch others

Im pround Sober man! I live a happy life and Drugs don't make a man happyer! It's the people around the man that makes Life*!

  • @Grumberf yeah same here, i'll never do drugs

  • @Grumberf i hate drugs so your my new bestfriend

  • @Grumberf if we banned everything that turned people against one another we'd have to start infringing upon peoples rights because peoples writings, words etc etc can be used to turn people against each other.

  • @Grumberf With all due respect I have to disagree. The only vice I have in nicotine, and heroin took my father's life. But that being said, I believe that nothing happens in this world without purpose. For example, marijuana doesn't just accidentally alter the brain, it's meant to be that way. And I also went through a horrible back surgry that I couldn't have made it through without pain pills

  • @Grumberf I've seen lives ruined by substance, but there's also people like me who have experimented and maintained control. Again, I'm living sober too, except nicotine, which may cause physical harm, but doesn't dominate the user's life like alcohol or narcotics.

As firmly as I believe that you don't need drugs to be happy, I also believe in freedom of choice. While I don't support drug use, it should be up to the people, not the government. Adults should choose to do what makes them happy

  • @Grumberf "anything that makes people turn against each other"

Cigarettes don't exactly fit that criteria. It's not like heroin trade. And people aren't getting shot down in the streets over a pack of cigarettes. The only problem with nicotine addiction is the health risks. Caffeine can cause cancer, should caffeine be illegal too? No, it shouldn't

  • @Grumberf

Just to be honest right here. I hate cigs and every drug. but marijuana doesnt make u turn on anyone. It actually makes u feel good its not something you use to escape from something but its used to have a good time. As for beer, the same goes for it but u just have to use it rightfully not like a stupid person.

  • @LouisianaPwnsUrDad

    *cough* reefer party

  • @RhynoZeroBlade My father drank and he was always in my life and lived with me and my mom and was a great provider and role model. Simply because people have addictive personalities doesn't mean that things need to be banned. Some people know how to drink responsibly and shouldn't be punished for the actions of some ass holes who don't and that goes for drugs too. Drugs are banned in america but the amount and quality reaching america is getting greater with each passing year.

  • @SLRok Well put. Another example is firearms. A killer is a killer whether they use a gun or fishing wire. These things were put on Earth for a reason. I believe that the government should educate the public more and leave it to the people.

@RhynoZeroBlade champagne and wine are abused too. I have a big problem with this...a rule with exceptions should not constitute a rule at all.

  • Its crazy otis makes everyone look bad except for himself and melvin

  • @TheAking2010 Otis promised Melvin's mother that he will be responsible for looking after him and do right by him.

  • melvin sacrificed his life to stay with the group he was a real temptations

  • I LIKE THE PART WHEN THE WORDS OF PHUL FACE IT SAY: DON'T DRINK THINK HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

  • bro Paul My favorite one! even in this song!! and then ppl think we look just alike but he older.

  • what was he singin :36?

  • Lmfao @ 5:30

  • While the PSA was appreciated, I think it's pretty tasteless to post "Think, Don't Drink" over the guy's face. As other's have stated here, alcoholism wasn't his real problem. Statements like the one you posted just makes Paul look worse than he may have really been :(

  • Even though I choose not to partake..I have to admit in MODERATION drinking is actually a good thing.Drinking is a proven social lubricant. Now that dosent mean go out there and drink yourself into a coma, or vomit.MODERATION is the key word here

  • what song was eddie singing

    does anyone know

  • what us the song that he is singing?

  • YES DON´T USE!

  • 'Youcanhaveyourfortunetold. YOUCANLEARNTHEMEANINGOFSOUL!".

  • "I wanna make a toast. All right????"

  • LOLZ! When the scene where Paul fell on the piano.

    "You're making a scene."

"Making a scene? What- what you mean I'm making a scene, huh?"

"That's enough poopie." <-- LOLZ!! Poopie?

"Eh eh Eddie get up off me man. Listen. Listen man! Eh, I sing this on national TV. Now I can't sing it at Mama's house. Mama. Mama! Wait wait. I sing this on national TV. I said... GET YO- can I sing "Lead" in your house Mama? MAN WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU, MAN!!" I know drinking isn't funny but I cracked up at that.

  • You wanna drink to hays and mama rose dont ya!?!?

  • Eddie: "I'm responsible for Paul."

Shelley: "Oh yeah? Then where were you when he was getting plastered????"

  • they are really going down hill dennis was the biggist mistike they made they just should of let david back in

  • When the heck did Paul become an alcoholic? Please let me know. Thanx!

  • @DaveWollenberg from the movie it looked like he started drinking when they went out on the road. When they first showed them on the road, it showed him refusing a drink, and then the next time, they showed him drinking his own booze.

  • @DaveWollenberg He started drinking in the bus scene before they performed "The Girl's All Right With Me".

  • "Let me tell you something alright.....YOU BETTA LEAVE ME ALONE, alright??" ROTFL alcoholism isnt funny but the acting is im sorry lol. ROTFL @ HOW HE COLLAPSES ON THE PIANO!!!

  • I C what u mean. THANK GOD that I don't drink!!

  • it was so funny how Richard is singing Paul's parts but u can hear Paul's drunken interpretation of the lyrics lol

  • Part 12 please?

  • actor playing the manager is so annoying. I have to agree with Eddie when he says Otis was full of shit when it came to being all for the group. Could've fooled me..he was always ready to fire somebody or force them out. And Melvin wasn't exactly the assertive type so it was pretty much like David said, "whatever you say Otis" when it came time to boot someone out. Since the movie was adapted from Otis' book, more than coincidental that only he&Blue are portrayed in a positive light..

  • Somebody hear my pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa lol...

  • this part was stuck in my head for a while.....its very sad and reminds me not to drink

  • 7:07 sick song

  • I didn't know that was Dianna Ross' daughter at the beginning!

  • Drinking is ok to celebrate but people need to control themselves and know when enough is ENOUGH!

  • @maymay9910 Amen, my friend!

  • @maymay9910

    can you be my friend?

  • @theQscorpioqueen Actually Otis lead a few songs, it's just none of them were featured in the movie.

  • Good point about the drinking... but did Ottis ever lead a song?...cuz thru the whole moving he never lead one but he was like the back bone of the group...he kinda like made all the decisions thats kind of unusual

  • dennis looked like an ape

  • all of the actors can REALLY sing - so sad though and good that you madethe point about not drinking :-)

  • all of the actors can REALLY sing

  • @hihosilverlining2 Except on 'My girl', and 'Papa was a rollin' stone'. On THOSE 2, they lip-synched.

  • Ya just realize that melvin is playing the piano

  • You don't need to have all the Anti-drinking signs all over this video. The movie makes the point clear enough.

  • my fav scene is when Paul covers Stevie Wonder song 1:30

  • old boy tow this song up just like the real Paul Williams, you can see if you watch a real clip

  • Richard's really cute, he kind of favors Michael Jackson. :]

  • I love that dress that Josephine is wearing @ 3:01!

  • Okay, who is playing the piano here? More than once both of Paul's hands come off the "piano" and the piano music is still playing. They should have shot this better.

  • @harukalioncourt melvin is playing the piano

  • yah I was fucked up last wk. I learned my lesson. thanx Grumberf!

  • Dang, Dennis got a church voice O.o

  • was Otis wifeJosephine played by Diana Rosses daughter the one she has from Berry gordy?

  • @Desiree50 No That's Tracy Ellis Ross, she was on the t.v. show "Girlfriends" for 8 years. The woman playing Otis's wife Josephine is an actress named Gina Gavera. Hope that helped (:

  • @BriapcdOTH902102388 hi friend look good on the credits its says Rhonda Ross Kendrick.i m shure Rhonda married a jazz musician with that last name, peace Desiree.

  • @Desiree50 Thanks for catching that, you're right Tracy is Diana's daughter with Robert Ellis Silberstein. Rhonda's father is Barry and she is married to a jazz musician. Rhonda plays Maxine in the movie. Thanks for the reply (:

  • @BriapcdOTH902102388 Glad to help my friend,Peace Des

  • "Otis's" face at 5:32 is classic! LOL!

  • Thanks, Grumberf for uploading the videos and giving the little notice about drinking. Anyone who complains about the warning must not realize what it's like to have a alcoholic, abusive, father like myself....

  • Whats the name of the song Paul sings when he's drunk at the house.

  • Can someone tell me the song Paul sings when hes drunk in the party?

  • @EvanRyu "For Once In My Life"

  • it wasn't just the drink for Paul. I think he also had sickle cell to...at least I think and the drinking made it worse

  • @amensupremera Yes he did suffer from sickle cell

  • MAN DNT MESS UP THE MOVIE WITH ALL UR CAPTIONS THAT UPSET ME

  • -_- paul williams is my little cousin's uncle. when i saw this video for the first time..i was like..damn. it's different looking at this shit on the movie. being the fact that i wasn't there in that era.. i only heard about it when my dad told me. i wish i could have had the chance to meet him. but my dad knew both eddie and paul personally.they all went to the same highschool.so that's as good as it got for me.

  • Follow ashanti on twitter @ashanti

  • thats sad at the party with paul

  • Of all the times I've heard this song I still can never figure out what the couple of words are right before "All these things I can do." Honey woman. I'm down hearted. What is it?

  • @doowoppingchainsawer: The lines are: "Unimportant are all these things I can do cause I can't get next to you."

  • I'M DAVID RUFFIN, BITCH!

  • Paul was really sick he had a disease. But they made it seem like it was just the alcohol

  • @Grumberf thanks for the warning I too hate drugs and wish for a world with no drugs, it's sad that people never appreciate their live. And by the way, is this the extended version? Because i had the movie but i've seen a few scenes that now make sense to me.

  • 5:30, that part is sort of funny, it sounded like Paul was shouting out at somebody instead of singing.

  • lmso nic beer act dont drink whil singing

  • What song do they play on 5:05

  • @gtyme125 Psychadelic Shack. One of their best. But of course the radio will never play it. You can find it on "All the million sellers"

  • I realy dont care 2 drink but a cold beer on a hot summer day ok other than that i really dont like 2 drink Drugs r bad realy bad mkayy WEED IS GOOD (not a drug)

  • Why is he sittin at the piano cryin & shit,at 1:00,he just been a bitch ass nigga the whole movie, lol...
