What did you do to prevent the screen flickering and jumping mouse? I used winehq's winetricks command (winetricks dinput8 vcrun2008 xinput d3dx9 strictdrawordering=enabled), used its D3DDrv9.dll but still the game is unplayable because of the flickering and mouse crazyness.
@patola123 I just follow winehq 's page but i thing flickering screen from x11 bug not wine .Can you tell me xorg server version ? (for me 1.10.2 with 275.09.07 nvidia drivers )
PS i don't use D3DDrv9 is a fail dll patch , make the game run realy poor like low texture ect ...
@patola123 PSS If you get again flickering screen , maybe test launch the game with virtual desktop some thing like wine explorer.exe /desktop=duke,1280x720 mybin.exe and again if you get flickering maybe you need launch the game with another X server some time you get bug cose some window manager make a bug( like bionic comando rearmed i get f*cking flickering under kde but the game run fine with awesome or fluxbox )
@2m42hy That really improved the flickering and now I can watch the screen without having epileptic attacks. :P Thank you very much, you seem to have passed through a lot of pain to know all these useful tips. However, my main concern now is with controlling the game, my mouse jumps around all the time and the keys randomly stop responding. Also the game settings don't seem to be saved, do you know how to fix these also?
@patola123 I don't know for the setting (i dont realy care the game setting ) for the mouse i thing my wine is build with xinput2 patch ( i using the patch for playing brink ) so maybe build wine with him .Look for wolrd of tank 's mouse patch . But remember i m not sure that fix the mouse .Sorry ... i go test later with fresh wine . Good luck cheer :)
@2m42hy I got it; I got the patch for Wine 1.3.15 from this bug.winehq report 20395 then I did an apt-get source wine1.3, changed wine1.3-1.3.15 to wine-1.3.15, changed to this directory, and applied the patch (patch -p0 < /tmp/wot.patch, where wot.patch is the name I gave to the file) and issued a dpkg-buildpackage. It asked me to install a bunch of libraries that I needed to build it, so I installed it and ran again.
@2m42hy thanks for the correct URL for the patch, but I have tried both the patch on the bug report (about 11kB) and your patch (about 26kB) and neither worked, I've seen some posts about compiling wine with "xinput2" but I still don't know how, maybe this is the problem.(I've seen --without-xinput and --without-xinput2 on the ./configure script, I still have to read more on this).
Really... Lots of pain to play just one game. :-( But it's Duke Nukem! I've got to do that.
demo was ok. But i think its more like designed to run in consoles. As i think dukes weapons etc are too close to be playable in pc and screen in front of you. Might be better when you stand little more far away like you do when you play with consoles.
@Ampuj4 "As i think dukes weapons etc are too close to be playable in pc and screen in front of you" +1000 but i realy enjoy play again with the king
@Unreadableanon the game is good ( realy funy )but is not the best game of the world , i thing look in deep net for find the leaked demo and make your opinion

@2m42hy I'm using Xorg 1.10.1 with 270.41.06 nvidia drivers. I'll try using without this D3DDrv9 and then update my xorg and nvidia. Thanks!
