I don't agree that the film loses steam, and feel that this is one of the most underrated movies in recent memory. It's fantastic, and explores in a fascinating manner the theme of taking justice into one's own hands, when the 'legitimate' avenues of society are allowing injustice and evil to prevail. Catch this sleeper.

This started out as a supercharged all time classic! I loved the beginning. Even though the film seemed to lose steam with some unlikely actions by Michael Douglas's character, and Yaphet Kotto's comedic police partner, it was still a good film. The music soundtrack theme was A++.
