  • you know nothing about computers.

  • I think the program is called Screenflow.

  • dumbass

  • USE COVERFLOW its free and i love it

  • Your programs on your PC were screwed up ? HAHAHA thats because you were using pirated software, and I would bet money on it... I would also bet you got viruses from porn sites, and pirating stuff... Mac has " garageband" Linux has "Linux MultiMedia Studio" Mac has "Front Row" Linux has "Elisa Media Center" Mac has "Finder" Linux has "GNOME Do" Mac has "Time Machine" Linux has "Back in Time" Mac has "Expose and Spaces" Linux has "Expose plug-in and Compiz Fusion" and on and on ...
  • on mac it is command and C at the same time to take pic / video

  • hahahahaa. i guess i need a mac then.

  • i love my mac, i think its better than any other dumb computer

  • There's a reason why they call it geek squad and genius ad the apple store. You're an idiot.

  • It doesn't matter if you know your shit when it comes to windows machines. with all the spyware and viruses out there, even WITH proper spyware/virus protection, your pc is eventually going to get slower until you reformat the whole fucking hard drive. fuck windows and fuck you you poor bastard.

  • omg i have a mac too and i im in love with it

  • no the new ones.

  • all macs have an apple remote

  • lmao at how ghetto we can be on you tube,

  • Camtwist is a good program for that

  • Macs dont have restore points, so you lose any deleted files, unlike Windows.

  • "Macs dont have restore points, so you lose any deleted files, unlike Windows."

Have you ever heard of a new feature in Mac OS X Leopard called "Time Machine"? Just type it into the search bar and watch Steve Job's Apple WWDC 2007 presentation about it.

  • WHAT!!!!YOU DUMBASS

  • Use a SCREEN RECORDING SOFTWARE FOR MACS! there you go!

  • haha I love the Indian customer service guy... "This problem is too much" lol so they really wanted to charge you $70 for 45 minutes of on-the-phone "service"?

  • what kind of macbook is that?

  • that is just like my computer experience, macs rule man join the club

  • Apple Macs rule, PCs suck, it's time to get an iMac. I can't wait to get mine.

  • Mac rules!

  • hey man you are absolutely right mac's are awesome.i have a 15" MB pro, its fully loaded and i have 3GB ram. :)

  • i'm not alone with using a mirror. lol

  • "I don't think you'd get that far before someone was like, 'Hey stop.'"

  • to record your screen use

    ishowu

  • where do u get that?

  • Cute clip.

Nice example of how the Mac fanatics' primitive concept of computing includes such gimmicks as the ability to add fog to video, hitting the screen to change desktops, playing little tunes on the keyboard and setting an alarm. I do agree with you that Windows is rubbish, however I will never buy a Mac (wait until you see how much it costs to fix THAT.)

  • there are many programmes to record your screen. I will name some of them. Camtasia, Hypercam (the best one), fraps (only for games). There are many more but i do not know the names...

  • Hey Av3rnus! Is Burnett Street near Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, N.Y.? Cause I've heard of that street around my way. Anyway, I can tell you're a really nice guy. And I love my iMac also!

  • this is the thing u asked ppl for i think

umm u can record tv and games on a tv but im not sure about the computer screen

  • greay review thx

  • search bb flashback, you can get a free 15 day trial

  • to record your screen just Google screen recorders

  • love the mirror, classy

  • I love my mac too!

  • OMG! and i thought i shouldnt buy one for the camera......BUT THE PICTURE IS BEAUTIFUL!

  • Wow, that mirror was ghetto :D.

You should remaster (re-edit) this video and show us what you did on a screen recorder.

  • There is going to be an update soon.

  • Easy Screen Recorder - 1.2 is not for macs. i just found that out. the best one is Screen Movie Recorder 2.3. it converts your videos to quicktime. ITS AWSOME!!!

    and i am only 14

  • i also use Easy Screen Recorder - 1.2. type that in on google

  • i also use Screen Movie Recorder 2.3. type that in on google

  • i have a mac and i use ISHOWU. just type than in on google

  • Thanks a lot this is a great program!

  • where do u get a wireless card and how does it work

  • i cant get my iSight movie on youtube? how'd u do it

  • to record outside your mac you just use an external camera...

  • I never had any problems with my PC because I know how to use/take care of it. But I do want to own a Mac computer though.

  • Heh. That tune is from Beethoven's 9th Symphony. I believe it's from the ending movement.

  • all u have to do is "apple, T" to split the clip

  • I GIVE YOU FOG! I GIVE YOU LIGHTNING!

  • mac ftmfw

  • is there anything like hypercam for mac

  • I need your help. I'm going to send you a message here later.

  • go macs! I'm glad I swtiched from windows!! haha go macs!

  • ya macs are sweet

  • FUCK WINDOWS! go mac! and before u windows lovers start saying that macs can't do anything a PC can't, let me tell u that PC companys copied mac. Yes i know you can't run a lot of programs Windows can, but whose fault is that? Mac stereo types who support Windows. And to film a screen, hook up a seperate camera.

  • Like I said, I'm ordering a new Mac in a few days, so I have no problem admitting they are excellent computers. However, lets stop trying to act like one is superior to the other. It's a not a matter of which is better, it's a matter of which one you prefer?

    P.S.

Sorry that I had to split this into so many posts...stupid youtube.

  • As far as things like iLife, it doesn't provide much that can't also be accomplished in Windows. Some people prefer iMovie and some people prefer Windows Movie Maker. Some people prefer Garage Band, some people prefer ProTools, NTrack, Sonic, or any other free music recording program on Windows. As far as a built-in webcam, some Dell laptops have those too.

  • MacGeeek, it's true that Macs can now run multiple OSes and therefore more software, but just because they can run more doesn't mean they can do everything well. Check some of the youtube videoseos with Half Life 2 on Macs (you even have one!), they run choppy and that's an old game!

  • It's good that you enjoy your MacBook, but did you ever stop to think that if you invested as much time learning about your PCs as you apparently have learning about your MacBook, maybe you wouldn't have had so many problems?

  • Don't blame Windows for that, it was your fault for not educating yourself on how to properly operate your computer. I have many Windows systems, none of which run virus or spyware scanners, and they all run like champs.

  • I'm waiting a few days until WWDC before I order a new Mac. However, I have to say that the reason your Windows PCs continually got slower is that you (and everyone like you) click anything and install anything like an idiot, which eventually corrupts (or congests) the registry, and allows in viruses or spyware. Basically, YOU fill them up with shit and then get mad that they stink.

  • I have to post my comment in parts, because it's apparently too long for YouTube rules.

  • unregistered hypercam

  • There is no unregistered hypercam for mac.

  • Bravo. i have no idea why pc people don't listen to me when I say...Get a Mac!

Pc's are for people who play games and pick their noses.

  • Hey...ho wmany MP is the icam?

  • I got my imac 6 months ago and I will never ever ever go back to a PC. My daughter's Dell takes forever to boot up and is constantly going down. This Mac is the most seamless, wonderful computer I have ever used. I don't know why everyone doesn't have a mac.

  • the noice for iAlertu is frekin annoying:p

  • does your macbook run hot at all? like 60 degrees celcius

  • It can run hot, but it really depends on what I'm doing. Heavy video editing and high end graphics can run it hot. I think the GPU gets hotter than the CPU, most often. The only time my fans kick on high is when I'm using Windows and playing a high end game. Windows power management sucks compared to Mac OS X. I can get almost twice the battery life under Mac OS X.

  • Av3rnus: I'm going to recommend some free software to you, if you haven't heard of these... Adium X for all your IM needs. Handles pretty much every IM service all at once. NeoOffice, a free (and Aqua-native) replacement for Microsoft Office. AudioHijack for recording audio in any application (like Safari). DotMatrix for awesome iSight photos.

  • hey nice review, what are the specs on your mac?. I just bought mine 2 days ago, and it is amazing!

  • use rouge amoeba's snapz pro for video screencaps

  • hey dmaci33 there is a mactablet called Modbook. it's not by apple though.

  • congrats on your new MAC

  • yes if Macs didnt over price they would take the lead but would you really want alot of people to own a Mac then all the problems a PC has would become the Macs problem so basically if everyone buys a Mac then the macs might begin to get virus' and everything a PC has

  • No. There are multiple layers of security in Mac OS X that Windows PCs just don't have. Most of the types of attacks that take place on PCs can't even happen under Mac OS X. It's called Unix, do your homework.

  • In responds to your comments on ILife, PC's like mine came with sonic, basically the same thing as Idvd. PC's come with a software program called paint, basically the same thing as Iphoto where you can do basic photo editing stuff. Windows Movie Maker, lets you cut videos up and piece them together and such--- same as Imovie. I haven't looked to far into my basic package,

  • I know you did not just compare iPhoto to Paint! That's the funniest thing I've ever heard. iDVD is for creating DVD projects. You can create photo slideshows with all kinds of effects or add movies you've edited in iTunes. It creates a beautiful DVD. iPhoto has a hell of a lot more to it than Paint (LMFAO!). iMovie is quite a full featured editing application. Windows Movie Maker pretty much compares the same way Paint compares to iPhoto. What a joke!

  • and also dont try to argue that the Macs are good because there are no viruses on the Mac because its BULLSHIT, granted there are no viruses, BECAUSE NO ONE WOULD TAKE THEIR TIME TO MAKE A VIRUS FOR A MAC, listen Macintosh computers account for 3% of the market that means theres 97% who own a PC (note: that does not include ipods or other Mac Accessories).

  • So you're saying that 22 million users is insignificant? Mac OS X is secure because it is based on Unix. It is secure because there are many safeguards that prevent the types of attacks that take place on the Windows platform. Safeguards like a bill of materials, launchd, file permissions and authentication.

  • yea thats great for u Mac users because its so cool if you have a built in camera in you laptop im so sorry that ive over looked that i mean seriously how could that have been not taken into account but anyway there are some downsides to a Mac i once had an old mac and i liked how there was all that shit built into it like fucking iLife what shit that is, dont even say its cool all the shit on it like itunes and iphoto and shit like that i can run on my PC

  • Wow, did we strike a nerve? Everyone loves iLife. iLife is a great suite of applications, all integrated with each other. No, you can't run shit like that on your PC. There's nothing like iLife for the PC. As I said before, PC software sucks.

  • YOUR SPEAKERS WOULDNT WORK CAUSE THEY WERE ON A HP WHICH IS PROBABLY THE ONLY PC WORST THAN A MAC...NO ONE BUYS A HP

oh yea ive had my PC for about 7or8 years its hand built and better than your mac

  • Well we all hate HP's atleast. I'm not too computer savy so you building your own PC is very impressive. I'm sure if you hand built it there would be some yield on proforumonse but my mac doesn't run on windows witch is the real bonus like someone said earlier it's not all about the hardwear. Have you even used a mac? I mean really used it and kept an open mind. I already know the answer because of your comments.

  • Uh huh... So you built a notebook that weighs less than five pounds and is less than an inch thick, with about a 4 hour battery life and a bright display. It has a built-in iSight camera? It has an illuminated keyboard which automatically turns on when the room darkens? The display automatically dims when the room darkens? Will your hard drive park it's heads when it detects a fall? Does your power supply connect magnetically to save it from a fall?

  • Does it have a multi-touch trackpad? Does it have hybrid analog/digital/optical audio inputs and outputs? Does it have an ExpressCard slot? What about gigabit ethernet? 802.11n? Does it have an infrared sensor with a remote? Does it have Bluetooth? What about your display, does it have a resolution of 1440x900?

  • Best of all... DOES IT RUN MAC OS X? No. Who cares if you have the best PC in the world, you're still using Windows. Like Steve Jobs once said, "You've baked a very lovely cake, but you've used dog shit for frosting!"

  • *Chants* "ALL HAIL MACGEEK!!!" Extreemly well said!! nice work my friend!

  • 9. Pc's can totally customize their desktop. Their own case, cooling system, several CD/DVD drives, etc, ect.

10.And the last thing I'm going to, it the cost for a Mac is crazy. If I look at a PC computer with the same specs as a mac, a PC is going to win out 9 times out of 10 is being cheaper overall.

  • 9. Aww your poor PC gets a fever? wow that sucks because I can just turn up the fans on my mac with a program. I don't need 4 cd drives we do it with 1 to read/write. It's Not quantity, it's quality stupid.

    10. This is true at first but after about a year your going to have spent the same amount of replacement stuff for your beloved PC except it will just continue to deteriorate. Ok, lets have a race who's computer will last longer. on your mark..... get set... SURVIVE!

  • 9. So can Macs. Our cases don't look like ass, so we don't need new ones. Our systems are designed to run cool, with minimal fan usage. Who can use multiple optical drives, but why do we need it when we have the ability to mount disk images to the desktop? Let's see Windows do that, fanboy.

    10. This MAY be true in some cases, but like Av3rnus said, you'll save a lot of time and money in the long run with a Mac. We don't need anti-virus and constant maintenance.

  • well put! *high five*

  • 7. Pc's also have to ability to have a web came built right into the computer. Just like a MAC. The only thing that makes the better for a PC is the fact that people are not forced to buy something they don't want or need. For example, if my parents wanted to buy a Mac, they just need the bare essentials because as you know, older generations don't know about technology as much.

8, I haven't seen any tablet MAC's yet. when is that coming out.

  • 7. What the hell are you trying to say? So essentially your saying that if your parents wanted a car you would get them a carborated one instead of the standard fuel injected one? I meen seriously who the hell needs reliabitly. Sounds like a PC guy.

    8. Why the hell would you want a tablet. I'm still confused about that one. "Hey guys come draw on my computer!!!"

  • 7. The iSight camera is superior to most PC webcams, with a higher resolution and frame-rate, as well as auto-focus. If your parents want a Mac with the bare essentials, they can buy a Mac mini for $599.

    8. ModBook. Google it. Apple itself is working on tablets and ultra portables that will put PC tablets and ultra mobiles to shame, using flash hard disks and multi-touch displays, just like the iPhone.

  • 5. Pc's just as much dedicated video RAM on the video cards. So your graphics card isn't superior.

    6. Pc's also came with video editing software, free of charge.

  • 5. don't care.

    6.they suck i've used them.

  • 5. Of course the graphics cards are the same, you fucktard. What PCs lack is graphic technologies like Quartz Extreme, Core Video, Core Animation, QTKit... all accelerated by the GPU.

    6. Yeah, but your "free of charge" software sucks ass. iMovie is actually quality software. Also, we have the ability to upgrade to semi-pro and pro applications like Final Cut Express and Final Cut Pro, which are industry standards.

  • Hey dipshit Mac user,

I can name a few things your mac can't do,

1 - Record Live TV, 2- Mac mouse's suck- no right click options, Pc's have been unitizing this option for years.

    3. PC's have a shit load of games made for their system, what can you play? (Photoshop and SimCity)

    4. you have to ship your computer to California, if it breaks, what happens if a pc breaks? ---that's right , they come to your door to fix it.

  • 1. true

    2. I use a mouse with a right, left, and scroll wheel click and i can do either just like a pc with the same options.

3.I don't play video games anymore.

4.I'd like to see you get binladen out to your house to fix your computer. With mac's you talk to people in TX and I can bring it to the apple store at tysons(40 mins away) where they will fix it for free.

So go fuck your little WOW buddy's and play your stupid ass starcraft. I'll be doing whatever the hell i feel like on my computer.

  • 1. Not true. There are TV tuners available for the Mac. They even sell them in the Apple Store.

    2. You can use ANY USB mouse on a Mac with the same functionality as you see on your PC.

    3. Macs can run ANY software on the market, thanks to BootCamp and Parallels. This includes games.

    4. Again, not true. You can take a Mac to any Apple Store for repair. I got mine back the same day.

  • Some of the comments I made were deliberately place on here just to get reaction from the Mac community. About a year ago today, you were unable to run anything of importance to what I do in school and for work on a mac. The architecture world was just not designed to run on a mac, and I think it's a copout move to run bootcamp on a mac.

  • If I want to render something in Kerkythea, a mac is going to suck up more of the CPU Power to run the Window portion of bootcamp. As a result my rendering time will suffer because of this extra program running in the background.

  • You don't even know what you're talking about. BootCamp doesn't run "in the background" when Windows is running. BootCamp is nothing more than a utility to partition the hard drive for Windows, manage the installation and provide you with a CD/DVD of Windows drivers for your Mac hardware. When you run Windows on a Mac, you're just running Windows, the same as any PC, nothing extra.

  • welcome to the beautiful world of computing that "just works!"... you wont look back ;)

  • Hahaha yea man I've deffinatly become one with the working computer. I don't miss my oldies one bit.

  • PS. that smack book shit is just fuckin gay why would you want to hit your computer

    unless its a mac

  • you can turn it off if you would like. It's called having fun with your computer. You probably don't undestand why you would have fun on a computer because you use a pc.

  • yea i have no fun on my PC because playing games and actually having stuff being compatible for it is not fun at all i dont know how i can stand it

and if you start telling me that macs are better because they have no viruses GO KILL YOURSELF no one waste their time actually making a virus for 3% of people who have a mac

  • Exactly =). No one would waste their time so i don't have to waste my time fixing what they messed up. On the other hand goodluck with norton mgaffe and all that other shit.

  • noa ctully thanks to macs advertising, macs now have 15 known viruses, plus loads more to come =). Lets hgope they discomtinue that "no viruses" ad before they get sued for misleading information xD.

  • I don't know where you got that figure, but from what I've read, there have been zero Mac viruses *in the wild*. And wow, fifteen compared to 144,000? Even if there *were* fifteen viruses, we Mac users still aren't clamoring to install anti-virus software.

  • neither am i, and 100% positive i dont have any viruses. And go ahead, google it, even post a question on the mac support forum, they'll tell you, macs DO have viruses now. and its not the fact that theres not many now, just think though, with population of mac users growing... how many will there be in a a years time? abnd fyi, those 15 viruses, all have came within the same 2-3 month span.

  • You're probably referring to the "exploits" found by the Month of Apple Bugs "hackers", and maybe a few of the other highly publicized "exploits". Exploits aren't viruses until someone has written a virus to utilize those exploits. As far as I know, all of those exploits have been patched by Apple in the last few software updates. As I always say, Mac security comes from it's Unix core, not lack of users.

  • You only have to tap the computer, not knock the shit out of it. Everyone loves this customization. You're just jealous because no matter how much you smack your PC, it's still a piece of crap and still a PC.

  • exactly there is sensitivity levels and an off function. if you want it, cool. if you don't, also cool.

  • macs are for fags who like to make gay ass video diaries about how they cant do anything because nothing is compatible with it

  • And Pc's are for people that can't make movies about their computers always breaking.

  • Actually, thanks to BootCamp and Parallels, Mac users have access to more software than any PC user. Aside from that fact, Mac software is usually better than PC software. You would know this if you didn't live under a giant rock with the rest of the PC fanboys.

  • HALLALUUYA! Windows can run on a mac? OMG NO WAY RLY!?!?! I guess the next boundary is walking upright for them haha =).

  • yeah they have access to it, but in my opinon apple shouldnt be getting credit for this. All they've done is basicly...lets put it this way, you made the worlds best selling coffee maker right? But its ugly. So another company steals your product design, everything down to the placment of screws is copied, but they make a awesome case. Basicly, thats windows running on OS X.

  • Apple hasn't done anything *to* Windows. BootCamp is merely a utility that guides you through the installation of Windows XP or Vista on a Mac and provides you with the proper drivers for your Mac's hardware. Running Windows inside a Mac isn't even Apple's technology, it's virtualization, and it's been around for a while.

  • Welcome to wonderful world of the Macintosh. I was exactly like you when I bought my first Mac, a G4 Mac mini. I now have three Macs. I'm using a MacBook Pro now. Spread the word, man. Macs are the way to go. Learn how to use the loops in Garageband. You can build whole songs easily with the loops. Acoustic guitar? They sound okay when you record using the built-in mic. I went out and bought a cheap Fender Squire just to record with Garageband. It's a pretty good recording program.

  • Yea i've made a new video with a garage band loop. Super easy and sounds really good for background music. I think i'll try the guitar thing because i do play an acoustic.

  • Ditch the mirror. You can record your screen with Snapz Pro at ambrosiaswDOTcom

    Welcome to the Mac! :-)

  • Thanks a lot man =)

  • Apple rocks

  • True that =) cheers!

  • youre right about PCs getting worse and worse over time. I know people who have iMacs from around 1998 and they still work like the day they got them.

  • Yea I think eventually they will take over the PC in terms of home computers. PC's will live in offices forever i believe witch it "ok" with me.

  • i dunno, most of the familys withs PCs can barly afford them. And macs are a tad overpriced for what they got. but if apple wouldnt overprice then i agree, pcs would be out of homes almost overnight.

  • Mac mini = $599

  • you kidding right? ok compare that next to a pc for about that price and you'd have MORE in the pc. The HP s3000e desktop has a faster processor, more memory, a 120gb hd, lightscribe, and all the things the mac mini has, plus more. Go look for yourself =) so why buy the mac mini, when you could buy the pc with much more for the same price? looks like apples cheating people.

  • 160 gb hard drive, my bad. but still, further proving my point =)

  • Yeah, I just did that. I don't think an AMD Sempron is faster than an Intel Core Duo. I had to strip of pretty much everything to get it down to the price of a Mac mini. Next time you tell me to "go look for myself", make sure you're not just putting your foot in your mouth ahead of time. Let's not forget, this thing was a huge tower and we're comparing it to a machine half the size of a Gamecube.

  • By the way the plug and play thing on Mac's aren't as good as advertise. My new Powershot S3 IS plug in right away with now Disc. Where as my roommate who owns a 12 in G4 notebook needed to use external software to load up.

  • Okay, first of all, we don't even know what version of Mac OS X this G4 notebook is running. This *does* make a difference. It also makes a difference whether or not this roommate of yours has installed the latest software updates. With each new update, Apple adds support for more hardware. This was the case with the latest update and the Motorola KRZR. There are *some* things that may require a third party driver to provide or expand functionality, but most hardware works instantly.

  • Since, I know you won't believe me, I' sending you a web page that proves AMD will always out do Intel any day of the week. It's to bad you can't get an AMD processor in MAC, boo- hoo. this page won't let me send a web page, but type in AMD vs. Intel and go to the Cnet reviews. They ran the two processors through 7 different test.

  • my pc works better since when ever gotten and all ive done as far as adding hardware was...well.. nothing o.O.

  • i want a mac book and i think macs are the best

  • Save your money i think their well worth it! good luck!

  • plz tell where you can get smackbook plz i love mac to

  • VirtuedesktopsDOTcom

  • SO TRUE!

  • macbook's rock!
