Ummm...Why does it seem that people think lighter skin=pretty....it most of these "home made" plays,they are making Deena light skin and the other Dreams dark skin opposed to making Deena just prettier....this Deena is not cute, she's a midget....Sorry :(

@babyboi1002 The story of Dreamgirls is loosely based on the Supremes story....Diana was considered prettier bc she was lighter skinned...plus Deena was chosen to lead bc of her possible appeal to white ppl and lighter skin blacks appeal to white ppl easier

@ninetiesbaby10 Not true....Flo was the lightest member of the Supremes...infact,Diana was the darkest......and in the original DC,Deena was dark skinned........infact DG's producer didn't want Deena to be light,MB felt that having a darker Deena made it seem like she worked harder to get to where she's at........which is true.....compare Halle to Whoopi...

I am very impressed with this version, as it has a good spirit, and the music is upbeat and well done.

I think this is an excellent job from what I've seen so far. And I just saw the movie earlier this week, and I'm glad that the director Bill Condon stuck so true to the originality of the actual Play. Good luck on your future runs of the show!!

Actually the original broadway show differs from the movie alot...Read the Jet magazine with them on the cover...Alot of the original actors are not pleased with the changes he made...and thats the reason why only one original cast memeber is in the movie.
