I understand that this band puts a lot of thought into their music, and i respect that. However, that does not take away the fact that they sound very plain. It does not sound any different than any other band ive heard before, that's the problem. They are good musicians, but do not sound very interesting, there sound is actually pretty boring.

He was the beast behind the band, and gave it the kick in the ass it needs sometimes. I'm sure the new guy will be great too,as well as the guy after him lol.

tom the drummer is very very good he makes the mars volta exploded with energy, I hope they didn't fire him if they did i don't think they will this great ever again. He is the john bonham of our time and should use his talent to his extreme like he is with the mars volta. If he is hired by some pop band we will never hear this type of style again .

@arturolabate I've seen them live 2 times, and Pridgen was drummer both. He's amazing, and he'll always be better than Dave Elitch. But I get pissed when people act like Pridgen was "too good for the Mars Volta" and that with him leaving the band will never be as good. The band is amazing and will get along fine without Pridgen. That said, Dave isn't as good as either pridgen or theodore, but he is good, and his style is most like Theodore's. That's all. You guys have valid points though.

Pridgen played over the top of things because he got told to by Omar. Pridgen even said it was really hard to get used to in an interview.

TMV was good with Theodore, it was good with Pridgen, it will always be good. Simple.
