  • thanks for the great video

Thanks be to God for giving us his word.

  • That is a very big question - WHO wrote the book & when? Where do you get this information for the majority of books?

  • dunklaw

Some books have the answers within them, while some are based on christian traditionm or oppinions from people around the time of the writings.

But unless the answers are in the books, we can only make an educated guess.

Praying for this information would obviously be wise.

'some are based on christian traditionm or oppinions from people around the time of the writings.'

Neither of those things are worthy of a standard of evidence. To argue something is right because of tradition is merely asinine, & the latter of that clause is one inherent problem of christianity: the totally unreliable source material for the 4 gospels.

And "revealed knowledge" via prayer is absolutely useless in the real world.

  • @preachinshawn

There are thousands of people who will claim "revelations of god', through whatever cause, that are all contradictory & all have exactly the same evidence: the account of the one whom this truth was revealed.

People also believe in UFO's, reptilians, bigfoot, moon conspiracies, et al....for many of the same reasons here.

  • I do not think you mentioned BDAG 3rd edition - the only reference attuned to 1st century Koine usage & in my opinion the best so far.

  • We have to be fair to both sides though cause both the Roman Chrstians and Jews were persecuted heavily in the First Century. Literally there lives were at stake and many converted to whatever power told them to do it to survive or they were killed. I have created some very objective video playlist for people who are interested.

  • Hey Shawn, Good Job. This is a great basic lesson.

The 5 "H's is very very important, History, Idiomatic expressions, translations errors from the original languages to Greek. I have been finding some amazing things out with history like the power in charge in the First Century was the House of Shammai contrary to the House of Hillel (which is not taught in any Christian literature. Also that most Jewish rabbis before Rashi believed that Isaiah 53 was about Messiah. Diligent study is key.

  • @paulgem123 I meant 5 W's LOL
