  • My dad was in the front row :)

  • Pete said it well in you better you bet, "i know i've been wearing crazy clothes and i look pretty crappy sometimes, but i still sing a razor line every time"

  • This was billed as their retirement tour or something. It was all in all a boring show. Saw many better shows in Syracuse in 1981 - 82.

  • My friend and I bunked school and drove from RI to Syracuse...scalped tix and the guy we bought tix from had the map of the arena backwards. They were 3rd row from the front and not the back! I was listening to see if you can hear me,but no. I think this was one of the first few songs...they were all decked out and made up to rehearse for the video they shot the next night...as I recall...I remember feeling really uncomfortable during squeezebox..surrounded by a bunch of horny dudes and all.

  • pete townshend is my god and guitar lord but i think his hair in this is a bit fucked!

  • My first concert. I remember having Saturday detention the next day. Still have my ticket stub.

  • I was there. WHat sucked was that a few months before I caught them in Buffalo, same cost, but with the added addition of The Clash.

  • I would've rather seen the clash. David Johansen sucked. He was too bassy. All you could hear is a loud rumble in the dome.

  • it was pete'S way of dealing with mid life crisis - this "full" hair.

  • I remember rushing the floor WAY before the end! You handed the security guard a $1 dollar bill and we RAN! I remember being up close for at least HALF the show! I could be wrong, though... My ears were ringing for TWO WEEKS!!!!

  • Yep, I was there too! My first Who show! 12-10-82 at the Carrier Dome!

Please Please post more from this show if you got 'em!

They did a great Boris the Spider, Dr. Jimmy, Squeeze Box, and Love Ain't For Keeping as well!

    Was this whole show filmed!?

The whole thing's on a decent audio bootleg, too.

Love Live Rock! (Yes they did a smokin' version of that also!)

  • Remember the obstructed view seats? Rushing the floor at the end?

  • Pete has a kind of combover going on.He's desperate at this point to look like he's got a full head of hair. This is his new wave early 80s look. It's dreadful but its the only time in his whole life that he dressed bad

  • If you check out the Toronto footage from the last night of the tour, Daltrey is pretty some pretty new wave looking clothes too. He's got this ridiculous look sleeveless shirt with this sort of superfluous diagonal zipper.

The sad thing is, these guys probably looked in the mirror before going onstage and thought "I look smashing!".

  • Yeah, and Roger had his hair "frosted". My mother used to do the same thing to her hair. HaHa. I also could have done without Pete's Armani suits with a ponytail look during the 1989 tour. Oh well, I guess not everyone dresses as perfect as me. Right now I'm wearing a "Frankie Says" shirt and my hair is just like the guy from Flock of Seagulls.

  • I hear you.. some days my hair is all Victoria Beckham and some days ...like today it's Robert Smith {the Cure}

  • I was at this show .

  • pete looks like some kinda doctor strangelove from a james bond movie here

  • if back then heroin wasn't the problem, sure the hairdresser was !!!

i can't prevent from laughing when i see these '80 live clips from our heroes, why did they do it ?

  • Does anybody else here a click track at about the 1:00 mark? It might be part of the keyboard sequence for timekeeping.

  • I hear some kind of steady pulse, but I don't know what it is. It wouldn't be for the keyboards, since those would have been played live by Tim Gorman.

  • Look at the size of the stage monitor Roger was standing near at the 1:00 mark. No wonder these guys were deaf. Damn!

  • What's the date on this tour? The only 82 show I've ever seen Pete play the gold Schecter Tele on was the last night of the tour in Toronto (the one on The Who Rocks America video release). All the other footage and photos from 82 show him playing either a black Schecter, a blue one or (very rarely) a sunburst one.

  • Loved the duet at the end: Pete and Roger. Just a couple of Shepherd's Bush mods. Sweet.

  • I was there. It wa spretty good, but the show in Buffalo a couple of months earlier was absolutely fantastic. And The Clash has opened in Buffalo, in addition to Johansen..

  • Is anyone truly ever clean from smack?

  • mrsoul congratulations. You're the stupidest person on YouTube. Whoo Hoo!!! Yes Pete was sober and clean from heroin. Damn you're stupid to say what you said.

  • look at him dance!

  • Pete must have scored some great smack in Syracuse...

  • Pete had been clean for almost a year when this was shot.

  • If you have anymore from this show, keep them coming. This is great

  • You found a video to prove your point about the who being at their best. This is actually the most energized performance I have seen from the 1982 tour.
