I have a good tip for you. Today, after the soup had chilled in the fridge overnight, the hot oil from the pepper had risen to the top and was resting on the cream, which had thickened somewhat. I used some thick paper towels and laid them on top of the soup and allowed them to soak up much of the oil and, therefore, the spiciness.
This soup doesn't taste like Zuppa Tuscana. I followed what was supposed to be the original recipe. I used the crushed red pepper and not bb-q sauce. I used an onion and not onion powder or whatever that was that you used. Anyway, you get the idea. The red pepper was WAY too much. It made it very spicy and Zuppa Tuscana is not a spicy dish. If you make it, I suggest you double the cream. It's a pretty good soup, but it's not the soup you're looking for.
