I've got a feeling he can play this while singing the lyrics to be honest with you. He probably wrote the whole song himself when he was on his own and showed cookie it. I think he just wants a break from the playing guitar and singing at the same time, sort of routine. Lots of front men who don't play while singing can in fact do so but sometimes choose not . I think its the moody rocker stereotype they are trying to portray tbh lol.
