This was fantastic! VERY helpful and you are a very skilled dancer :) I Wish you would upload another! A follow on one that we can all go on from once we've learned this vid!
I shot a few videos in this studio from Sept to Novemeber 2010 of Becky, a HK Belly Dancer. Take a look at the videos on her YouTube Channel. User: BeckyBelly.
This was a very helpful video! You are very amazing! I waited until now to start ballet (I'm a senior in high school) and I wish I would've started earlier! Because with Youtube, I don't have to waste money on lessons! Thanks! One day, I'll be as good as you! =D
@Nekokitty74 Even if you use youtube, you should get atleast one lesson a week. It wouldn't be wasting. Also, warning, NEVER EVER GO EN POINTE WITHOUT LESSONS AND THE TEACHER'S PERMISSION! But yeah, I wish I started earlier too :(
@Nekokitty74 me too! i wish i started earlier when i was 4... i think we can still learn how to ballet.. hehe.. im 19 and u? im trying to be flexible.. :D lol
Thanks for the tutorial! I've found it so useful due to I need to start training come kind of dance as a base for artistic roller skating and I thought ballet could be a good one. Now I know these are the exercises I was looking for -at least- begin :) This video is so good for everyone who wants to start practising ballet; your explanations and examples are so easy to understand.
This is the best video I have found so far to show my 5 year old daughter the basic positions and moves. We live rurally and there are no ballet classes anywhere so she now begs me to play the video every day. Once again thank you, this video is enabling us to further her involvement in something she is so interested in.
This is great, I have been looking for something to help me remember the basics so I can practice between classes. I have to say though, her voice in a tad annoying.
I LOVED this. It is exactly what I am looking for. It would be great if there was a different video for each step that she did, from the foot position on. If there were 3 or 4 sets with 8 to 10 reps each that would we AWESOME. I have decided to try and learn ballet but before I go to a studio I would like to know the basics.
This is very dangerous to try to teach ballet without giving anyone corrections because you cannot see them and interact. There can be problems with alignment not to mention over turnout. You cannot just say knees over toes and not tell them how to engage their turnout. You know they will just turn their feet to look like yours at 180 degrees. This type of posting hurts mre people then it helps.
@lmaty1 i know yeah my ballet teacher says to turn them out into your most comfortable position so as not to put strain on your knees and cause an injury and to practise this at home so we can turn our feet out at 180 degree angles.
@bonniebaby1997 Actually, you cannot change the turnout you were born with. You can open our hips by doing the frog and butterfly but it wont change. Turnout comes from your hip rotators. That is joint not muscle. As long as you engage what you have you will be fine. Just never force it. Everything you do at the barre is meant to help you do this if done correctly. Especially rond de jambe a tere.
My dream is to learn ballet some day. Im 21 (like too old to be a beginer) but I really want to learn. This video is so usefull thank you very much, If you want to make more tutorials... we support you!
@andygirl182 you can find a ballet school, with a beginner class for people, who started ballet too late :) Like me :D I'm 13, too late to start ballet, so I have to go to a beginner class :) I might start dancing Ballet this Friday..so excited!! :]
@Twilight4ever1449 Thats not always the same. I started ballet with 14 years and now im with only girls who started with ballet with 4 years. Im 15 now and do next year my Ellementery so :D try your best. and you can be really good
@andygirl182 iM also in a Group for adults. last time There was a woman who was 31 years old and started with ballet :D So dont be scared.. :D Everything is possible :D
thank you so much! I am in my late twenties, and have always wanted to study ballet, but never got the chance. Now I have wanted to sign up for courses but work makes it difficult to keep up. I use your video to walk myself through warm ups at home. I really find your notes and attention to detail helpful. can you please make more? Thanks again!
Very useful :) I used to take ballet but had to quit for knee trouble -- now I'm teaching myself again from videos as cross training for my Irish dancing, because ballet exercises are so good for you!
is the ballet shone cheap or not cheap ??? caz l m only a 12 years old girl and do not have much money 2 buy but l really like ballet because its beautiful >3< plzzzzzzzzzz reply
