  • I think Randys playing on ozzys tribute album is so incredible words fail me. Amazing guitarist. Tragic loss. Far too young the boy. Great stories thankyou.

  • Silver Scirocco...

  • Okay, okay....I understand the message....how much for the polka-dot? Just kiddin'....you lucky bastard.....meeting up with Rhoads and all....and having that polka-dot.

  • @Za7a7aZThat polka dot is for sale,$35,000.99 sounds good!I dont think I'll ever sell it.I am going to shoot all the places in burbank and around here that has to do with randy, someone asked if I would do that ad put it up on youtube,so thats what I gonna do!

  • @mdskewes Before I went to work this morning I did some smurfing on the i-net and arrived among on things on this YT-vid of yours.....and replied. I always thought that he crashed with that plane while on his way to an appointment somewhere but today I learned that he died because of that idiot bus-driver playing dive-plane over the tour-bus. The fourth time he came too close and scaved the tourbus and crashed..killing everybody in it. What a fucking idiot.....the driver that is.

  • @Za7a7aZ Anyways...I see that you upped this vid some 4-5 years ago and it is still visited and active...That is good to see and know that Rhoad's memory is still alive and people want to know what kind of person he was..Thanks mdskewes

  • Can we hear some of the blazing technique you learned from Randy? You know, to augment the stories? I mean, give us at least 1 minute of playing for every 10 minutes of talk...

  • @jbryant1102 uuuuuuuuuuh I have about 200 videos of me playing my 70+ guitars!!! OK, just go to my channel"mdskewes" you can put your coursor on my name and click on it and it will take you to my channel, and then you can click on any of my videos of me playing guitar.I dont claim to be Randys star pupil, that was craig turner ,whom I also took lessons from.I knew Randy from around town more than taking lessons,I think I took about a dozen lesson's but I know his mom and sister and brother.

  • @jbryant1102 THIS IS PART 2-so i thought I would put this viseo up because the documenary it was for is so bad it will never be released.I was playing in band and touring, reording professionaly for 17 years, you can see those bands tooFatal Attraction I was playing Bass,Trick Or Treat I play gutar and Stiletto .I also had a Randy Rhoads tribute band that I still need to put up!hows this for a reply!

  • Awsome video man! Your a lucky guy to have gotten to meet him. Thanks for posting the vid for all of us RR fans!

  • @9537912rockstar Your welcome man,I just wish the documentary was coming out,but the guy who shot it sucked and Randy's family told him "DO NOT RELEASE THIS ,IT SUCKS!"And it did, maybe someone else will do this.At least Ozzy will be releasing some real rare and good footage at the end of May!

  • I would give my left nut to have got a guitar lesson from Randy

  • @mdskewes Oh i know , im only messing but man you are SO lucky.

  • @DaleEnright308 yikes! /////////i think he would rather be paid with money instead of testicals!

  • @DaleEnright308 id give both of my balls for a handshake

  • Dude im sorry but ur fuckin awsome

  • In response to RR being a classicaly trained guitar player.

Eddie Van Halen is a classically trained piano player, a musical genious, a guitar builder/designer (changed the way guitars were designed in the 80's), had a sound that no one could replicate... but an arrogant a-hole and was never much liked... Anything after 1984, forget about it. Really two different guitar players which was good! RR was awesome as we know. Was only getting better. R.I.P

  • Thanks for posting the vid.I share something with Randy Rhoads too,I was born thursday Dec 6th.

  • What guitar would Randy have at lessons...the famous white Les Paul?

  • @TimeLordGuita yes, after he died I went to go see his Mom and she let me play the black Jackson! I was shaking like an idiot, all of the sudden Randy was this huge guitar hero and was not coming back so I guess it just hit me and i freaked, now he was something bigger and if I dropped that thing I would be dead!

  • Great dude i LIVE IN CALI also and I play too can add you in FB?

  • Great stories, thanks for sharing!

  • beautiful guitars but i think jackson should have kept it with a standard fender style tremolo and harpoon headstock but i guess thats sandovals design :/ Randy is god, plain and simple!

  • SERIOUSLY? How about showing something!

  • @JohnnyTruthSmaksHard go look at some of my videos with me playing,I only have about 15 or so!than you can talk crap little bity man.

  • Your the luckiest guy on the whole face of the planet.

  • sir, you are a blessed man. i envy you.

  • How could you order a reverse polka dot flying V with a harpoon neck, (reverse meaning white with black polka dots).. and how much would it run for... 3 grand?

  • 3 g's? Are you shitting me? More like 12g's!

  • I'm pretty sure Ozzy says that on Don't Blame Me - (documentary)

  • u cant call it spotless man :), lol

  • I put my first video up,feel free to ask questions. look in the response for this video.

  • tell more stories about him

  • I'm going to put some videos up, I was in a bad car wreck back July and I have not picked up a guitar since the begining of the year.I just bought a new axe and amp and a video camera so I can start getting back into it.sooooo,I promise I will post videos of what Randy tought me and some other stuff. You can see me play if you watch the Trick or Treat videos on my youtube site but they are old and I was wasted so it dont sound so good!

  • I hope you post those lessons. You have no idea how much I envy you. Randy Rhoads is a big influence on my playing. I wish I could be more like him.

  • yah good vidio but do you know who has randys plka dot v?? im curouse??

  • His mom has it.

  • ... And I'm off to rob his moms house.;p

  • its at his mom's house... ozzy told in an interview he visits her once every while and then opens the guitarcase... in that case is RR's guitar and a opened pack of sigarettes...

  • omg ur so lucky u got to meet the greatest guitarist ever!!!!!! and got lessons from him!!!!

  • hey michael, did you tape any of your lessons?

  • yes

  • ..and you kept them? you're saying you still have them? how long did you study with randy and how many hours do you have recorded?

  • r u gonna post em?

  • bad ass guitars!

  • thanks!

  • this question is open to anyone if you could desrcribe what randy rhoads was like in one word what word would that be

  • Humble. Innocent.

  • you looks like halford. nice guitars.

  • rob halford is that you......?

  • I wish I took lessons from Randy Rhoads. If I could go back in time....

  • this is great because you get to learn about randy rhoads because he is sort of a mystery he only made 2 albums with ozzy before he died

  • rabdy rhoads headstock didnt look like that.

  • i mean randy rhoads headstock didnt look like dat lol

  • R.I.P Randy Rhoads

    You are amazing

  • dude seriously, i know people that would kill people to have met randy and heard him play one lick in the same room as them. im one of them. Your very lucky to have met him. RIP Randy

p.s im going to steal your jackson lol, just kiddin. (but i want one)

  • i have dreams of taking lessons from randy, i love these randy rhoads stories i wish could have met him, i was born 2 years later after he passed.

  • Do you know when Randy was just learning or starting to play electric guitar what type of guitar body it was and how much he practice it on average?

  • i believe ive read he was around 7 or 8 when he began playing, he started with an acoustic i believe then his mom i think got him a strat style guitar. im sure he practiced vigorously and diligently every day. but i dont know how much of that is correct

  • amazing guitars man...

you were lucky to meet him...

also, they aren't spotless, there is spots all over them :D

  • Thanks for uploading this, a shame the producer decided to not put atleast some parts of this in. I listened with great interest and learned through you from Randy while you talked what he had taught you..funny

  • Can we see the pics you have?

  • So how much did u learn from Randy?

  • hahahahahaha, that all depends on who you ask!

  • thankyou so much for sharing this with us.....you are so blessed to have been a part of his life. I would treasure those guitars. Even though it's meterialistic ...it's something you can reflect on.

  • your welcome.

  • RANDY RULES!!!!

  • The practice amp Randy used in the "little" room was a Crate. He also had a small, early Carvin which he won in a guitar playing contest. Delores still has them in the room and still uses them. She gave Zakk Wylde Randy's stage vest (The light tan one) that he had custom made for him in Hollywood when he joined Ozzy. Cheers! R.I.P. Randy, Robbin, Kevin........

  • you know

I cant bet on it,you could right.I miht be geting Randy and Craig Turner mixed up.

  • Not according to Bob Daisley, but then again what would he know write?

  • nope,dope!

  • I know what I'm taking about dude.there was a few weeks in between. he wanted to come home for a bit,a he just could not stop teaching and practicing.

  • Man, Randy Rhoads and Kevin DuBrow are prolly jammin' in Heaven right now. RIP you guys.

  • If ever there were a reincarnated Classical master manifested into a physical body in the modern era, Randy Rhoads would have to be that manifestation...

  • nicely put.

  • OMG!

you have a small lamborghini in the back! XD

  • wat kind of stash did randy have in high school p.s. dude ur awesome 4 knowing randy rhodes

  • u got lessons from rr?!?!?!?

  • your guitars are amazing. i would do anything for one of those. haha.

  • OHNO he said Photoshop then intruduced the PICTURES???????????

  • ???????

  • how come u didnt come to the memorial

  • i'm sick

  • how was it?

  • you knew randy? omfg im so fucking jealous i fucking worship that man!

  • i know he is so lucky

  • i cant believe ozzy would do that lol. like even if he was heavy on his drugs its a randy rhoads guitar sign it man! hahaha

  • well, to him it was just a piece of metal and he looked OUT of it! But, once he started to figure it out at least he signed it.That is all

    I care about.

  • was it pretty cool to see the founders of metal

  • Dude it sounds like Ozzy was kindof a prick to you.

  • I blame it on drugs. My ex-wife met him several times and she said he was very nice,

  • do you know when the Documentary is comin out

  • not sure, since I'm not in it,I'm out of the loop now.check the myspace site.

  • Thank you for those nice stories about Randy.

  • man were u been how come u dont talk to me no more

u better come to the memorial this year

  • well, since I lost my wife,my house and my job,I have a lot of free time,I'll be there!

  • feel bad for u man im saving up for an eppiphone ivory les paul custom im only thirteen so its hard to save 600 buck for a guitar how old r ur polka dot v,s wish i had one

  • are you serious?

  • no offense dude but i have to correct one mistake. eddie van halen was trained on classical piano before he began playing guitar (at the age of 6 in holland). eddie van halen is classically influenced

  • I know he was trained on piano,my great grand mother knew the family back in Holland(I know that sounds crazy but it's true!)and the classical influence did come out on his solos,BUT,Randy who also played classical had a more classical style of playing overall than Eddie did with is groawling and squeling sounds plus his attack,.I don't know it is just my opinion.

  • yeah i get u now. he was purely self taught so his style is way different than anyone else's. but randy and eddie both understand (or understood) the concept of good tone. they just don't bang away at the guitar and say it sounds good, they actually sounded good.

  • Shit you met Randy Roads AND Steve Vai.

You should have treded your vee for vai's Jimi Hendrix Tribute Universe. u know the one he plays on the For the love of god video.

  • awesome guitars

  • Amazing stories man. You are very lucky to have been able to take lessons from Randy. He is my hero and is for many others as well. I would be interested to know what kind of guitars he used at your lessons. Did he use the Les Paul, polka dot V, or any famous guitars of his? Thanks for the great video, Ron

  • great video man! randy is a huge influence on me. i got a new kramer this week, ive been playing for a couple of years on and off, but a this year i started playing seriously, and started a band with my friend. i would buy a randy signature, but... im short on cash... =P by the way....did you get caught "borrowing" randy's file?

  • no,I did'nt get caught,I was amazed how easy i was.

  • Just a question, but is that Reverse Polka Dot V to your left a GMW or some other brand? I can see there's something written on the headstock, but I can't really make out what it says. Nice video by the way, thanks for uploading it!

  • I think it's a custom Jackson

  • It's a Jackson custom shop.

  • Oh, I see, very cool!

  • you are so fortunate to have been (directly influenced and "hand" taught by Rhoads.

its a testimony to his character that he came back from england and went right back to giving guitar lessons...Randy was unique in many ways it seems.very cool video w/ cool stories(i loved the bit about robin crosby <rip stopping you from stealing the crue plaque....hahahah something i probably would have done as a kid.not sure what your name is but i will call you LUCKY...very very LUCKY. : )

  • Thanks ,I'm glad you enjoyed it.

  • why should he get trained by eddie? randy is a much better guitarist

  • You said you took a picture of Randy. Do you still have it? I'd love to see it :) Thanks. If you don't have it, thanks anyways :D.

  • Jackson Polka Dot V Limited Edition????

  • yep!

  • my god..i love Jackson Randy Rhoads signature!

  • Thanks for uploading, man. Randy is my guitar hero and you have some pretty cool stories about him.

  • in my opinion he has the best style because he has like classical intros and heavy riffs later on which is just genious

  • lucky as hell

  • you knew randy roades how many years before he died

  • about 3 years I guess.

  • you met randy rhoads now all you have to do is get trained by eddie van halen and i will be so jealous man props.

  • I've met Eddie a few times and one time he gave my Mom a kiss on her cheeck at a Tom Jones concert!

  • in ur opinion u mean

  • So I guess you don't like players who know what they're doing and not just goofing around.

  • parkersvx90210 what's wrong with you man?

i was just sayin' that eddie seems better to me, i didn't said randy sucks...

  • i wish Randy Rhoads was still alive. Then maybe I could learn some more from him because I REALLY want to play like him. That would be AMAZING!!

  • One more thing, if anybody has the first two QR albums from Japan, please post some songs. "We've Got the Magic" is credited just to Randy, the only song off both albums to have that distinction. I had both but they got stolen. 1 more bit of trivia, Randy used Fender medium tortise-shell picks with his name on them. I'm sure plenty remain somewhere in peoples junk drawers... RIP.

  • That was way too short! I could have listened to your anecdotes for longer, great tales of a great guitarist. I was outside the Glasgow Apollo, Scotland on the very 1st night Randy started touring with Blizzard, had no money for a ticket! Failed to meet Randy but met Ozzy, a big regret is that i never did get to see Randy on stage. I am taking my family to LA in July stayin at the Universal in Burbank, I would like to buy you for a beer if you'd be interested.

  • DUDE!!! Your so Lucky you got to meet and get lessons from Randy Rhoads I Wish i could of had that privelege. =( Poor Randy he is my hero. Can you tell me what he would tell you and how would he teach you and something you can pass on to me? please???

  • play something

  • were can i get one

  • e-mail jackson or try ebay.

  • Hey man cool video.

Randy is my fav of all time.

    I live in Burbank.

    Can I meet you sometime.

    I'm a guitar player too.

    See ya- Wade

  • sure, let's hook up.

  • He didn't mention Bill Nelson's influence on Randy. Randy's solo on Ozzy's Tonight was directly taken from the outro solo of Bill's solo on Be Bop Deluxe's "Jet Silver and the Dolls". Randy did it a bit faster, I think. Randy was, and still has not been surpassed, as the fastest player ever. I consider him to be the best, and my guardian angel.

  • Like the way you talk about the good ol'days. Thanks for sharing your memories. You should write a book .....about....and make some money to buy some more Rhoads stuff. Did Randy had one of his guitars in that plane?

  • I am writing a book.

  • There's no Doubt in my mind, that Randy would have Left Ozzy, after the 2nd album. From what I heard Ozzy was a drunk jerk. Randy deserved a better class of musicans!!!

  • I think your right!

  • Do you know why he left quiet riot?

  • cuz kevin was a douche i guess

  • Ozzy and Randy was a bigger success than Quiet Riot.

  • yep.

  • R.I.P Randy, he was an awesome guitarrist that was taken away waay to early :/

nice vid also! You have experienced alot things, and i'm really jealous ! you've met Randy and Black Sabbath!!

Again, nice video! 5/5 :) i can only imagine how great it must've been to meet Sabbath and Randy!
