  • It's so obvious that alot of people still don't know anything about Forced Induction, Intercooling and self TUNING.

    Hello! ..any car can be made fast/er. There are V6 turboed, intercooled, tuned doing mid 8 sec. 1/4 mile ET and a FWD; ..a FWD transaxle in the 8's. @ 156-158 traps speed. (NO NOS!!).

    So who says that a G35 and 350Z are slow with FI? It's all a matter of Sponsorship willing to put money on the car and make it run to the 10's, 9's, 8's, 7's etc ...

  • I wonder what kind of tuning Turbonetics did to the ECU for this kit. No one can assume a product is bad, because there's no fine print reguarding what values they put in the Engine Management, fuel mngt. system. That's why, if you're going to purchase a Forced Induction kit, you should KNOW HOW TO TUNE.

    Buying a turbo kit, without knowing what's inside the ECU/ECM is kinda off.

  • @MrJdm350z I like the turbonetics kit. It's safe reliable, works with the stock weak rods in mind. Keeps things quiet, because TT VQs sounds like an ass after a night of beer and mexican food. Despite it being faster due to being more 'opened up" I'll take the quieter "quick" turbonetics kit on a quiet exhaust.

  • fail, GT mustangs R slow with slicks a turbo 350z can run 11's stock motor. I think a stock GT is like 250 crank hp which is less than the stock 3.5liter V6 at like 280 crank.

    With slicks a turbo GT can run DEEP 11's stock engine. a VQ35 in a stock interior car can barely manage to break into the 11's. There are stock bottom end 3v's that are close to the 10's

    And the VQ35 is still a DOHC engine compared to the SOHC GT.

    You already KNOW what Ford can do with DOHC lol. They made a 400HP 5.0

  • The new 2010Gt have 300hp the older ones were 250hp apples to apples the 2010 370z is 335hp in a v6. If u want to do apples to apples then compare the 2009 shelby to the GTR stock for stock. The mustangs have always been underpowerd the 4.6 V8 in my expo is the same 4.6 in a stang. Do you realize that the 1990 300zxTT is still faster than the GT 20 yrs later how sad is that?

And have been at forged performance for dyno sessions. according to what I have witnessed first hand and car and driver and motor trend every GTR they have dynoed has been above 475whp. Know nothing abt cars how much did you pay someone to put your turbo kit on for you. I built mine thats what I do for a living. Funny how U R comparing the base price of one car to the loaded price of another.

  • If you ask me thats sad, that Shelby at 59k is probably loaded with every possible option and it only takes some drag radials on spare rims ($400), a pulley and a tune ($500??) and this GT500 is running superior times than the GTR, let alone the fact that right up to the point that you sign the contract on the GTR you'll be thinking you're gonna pay 77k, right up to the point you see that little box called "Mark up" which says 10-15k n it if not more, so your 77K GTR just surpassed 90k.

  • Nah I'm not 26, and the issue with the angry kid with the neon started a long time ago. I don't feel like anything with a GT. I feel like someone who has a car that's faster than most, just about anything you'll meet by chance on the highway.

    I bought my GT in highschool lol, and it's had it's run. There's a dyno sheet in the walk around video.

    I know my car isn't a topped out LS1, it's not a built engine, not very fast, nor does it handle, but it's decent.

    You didn't hear the turbo spooling because the air was going by the car at about 120mph, and thats going to make a lot of noise. Plus, my car has open dumps. This means my car is extremely loud, so its going to muffle whatever sound his is making.

  • ??? Generally speaking a Single Turbo = better power at the top of the band but bigger lag; TT = better power at the low-mid range on the band and less lag.

  • hmm i would think a ST setup would have less lag than a TT considering one turbine is being powered by all 6 exhaust ports as opposed to 3 for each turbo. I know a rear mounted turbo will have a bunch of lag but not the forward mounted setup like the turbonetics kit.

In six months i've installed tein suspension, invader v3 wing, aem intake, volo chip(just to see what happens lol), lambo doors, and a few other aesthetics, looking at exhaust and plenums now.

  • i don't know how long you have had your z or been into turboes or anything, and i agree that all the kits are good, but disagree that there is not a best turbo kit, the powerlab kit is def. the best just look at what comes with it and what comes with the others. much better put together and much better components. go to my350z forum and just check out the thread for fi for noobies i believe and read about all the kits pro's and con's.

  • the powerlab kit makes 400whp on 6.5 pounds dude, ok now bump that up a little, jesus, you should know powerlab is the way to go if you are a z owner. there is no question, it is the best kit out for a 350. best components in the kit and makes crazy power on low boost.

  • you can absolutely buy a better engine block for your g35 or 350z from cosworth its a 400rwhp naturally aspirated garanteed power to your ride man and with better breathing mods on it tripple clutch light flywheel and a POWER LAB Turbo or Twin Turbo you can achieve 700rwhp 700lbs torque or even 1000 rwhp 980ftlbs of torque and yea there is such power for the VQ engine ive seen it my self infact i am working on mines.

  • Noo! sunny look here its not what ive i read and post it here ive actually read it and called COSWORTH and they sent me info on how much power you can get off a short block for VQ35DE and 1 of my car club memeber actually bought one for $4,500 and sleeved and put the right pistons on his car the right set of valve heads and block and actual power on the dyno came up to be 425rwhp/415lbs of torque on N/A platform so ill let you.. think what you want i dont know what rock you've been under son.

  • well i wont be spending any money anytime soon anyway my ass just got laid off and im trying to conserve. but i did do dual AEM CAI u gotta love that HR motor having two intakes. and i wont have enough money to boost it for a while like 4-6 years i got college to pay for. the damn greddy kit i wont cost 8,000 grand and i would like to put new sleaves, cams, exhaust manifold, exhaust system and intake manifold when i boost it too.

  • cvp350gt, your wayyy wrong. there is power levels towards 1000rwhp when boosted, thats true. however there just barely breaking the 320rwhp all motor (no spray) barrier. im a premier member on my350z (drift_projekt_z) so i think i know what im talking about. please stop making stupid useless posts. and you get your info from import tuner?? epic fail.

  • well its hard to brake the 300whp barrier with NA but if you get the right kit and spend just enough money on it you'll get the 400 i am talking about and no i dont get my 411 from fucking import tuner i saw the Cosworth block and so froth dhowed it to some people who were buying one they bought it installed it and broke your 300whp barier with other mods installed so no u r as selective reader and believer as the other ignoranus here.

  • interesting that people knock the st kits... I have an APS ST and it put down 371hp 380ftlbs, at 6 psi.... Im going external wg and prolly gonna push 10psi= 400-420... I raced my friends fp green evo at 28psi, and we were neck and neck... its all relative... and PSI dosnt mean squat, torque breaks motors.

  • That is my G35 and I was at about 375RWHP on a dynojet in this video and James is aboput 385RWHP on a dyno dynamics.

    Viper a TN kit is only good for around 400 on a G or Z on a stock block. Much more a booooommmm
