  • thumbs up if hse is a great spoke person!

  • really cool! i got some dread stuff on my page. check it. Knotty boy

  • how do i twist up my own hair

  • hey i was wondering how many inches dreadlocks take off your normal hair length, i have about 8 inches of thick curly and frizzy hair so can u please tell me! tank you!

  • I dont anderstand ..what is this 8:16 ? thanks.!

  • Dude, this chick rocks out on the bass guitar.

  • Well, im screwed. I want dreads because im tired of having a fro.

  • how much do u charge per hour???

  • hey uhm, how do i convince my fam to let me get em or convince them that they are clean. k thnks[:

  • does anyone know which shampoo suits for dreads ?

because none of them are working good for my dreads...

  • i got silky dreads.

is there a way to make natty dreads out of them?

  • so ive been trying to dread my hair for the past couple of months. And i wash my hair clean than wait for it to dry. than i start to section my hair and backcomb but, my hair seems like it doesnt want to be dread it just goes back to being straight no matter how hard or tighlty i backcomb i tend to use wax but it just becomes all messy and nasty looking sooo... do you have any advice as to what to do or im i just doing the whole thing wrong?

  • I read somewhere that its not a good idea to use wax as it stays in your hair for a long time afterwards, is this true?

  • @heavyrocer The Knotty Boy Dread Wax CAN be washed out. It's not water-soluble, so it will keep your locs together in the shower, but it is shampoo-soluble, so if you stopped re-applying the wax it would eventually wash out after several shampoos. There are other products out there which are nearly impossible to wash out because of their petroleum-based ingredients - think washing Vaseline off. But the KB wax is totally natural, the only reason it will take a few washes to get out is the beeswax

  • that's a lot of wax... anyway, is it harder to create dreads out of silky straight hair?

  • Ayee I've seen this place be for in Van , I'm totally interested in dread's

Is it weird to just get like one chunk of dred or would that be retarded ?

    and what's the price like

  • @XxdinoSTARZ People get a single dread all the time! Or a few. It's like having a little fun secret at the back of your head. Please check out the Salon page on our website to find information about services and prices. Thanks for watching!

  • What brands of shampoo or hair soaps *if they make them* do you recommend? I use Axe shampoo. Or does any kind of shampoo work, because I dont know if any stores carry KB. Also, when my hair starts getting longer it curls and waves and goes in all crazy directions, so will it be easier to dread or does ANY hair dread? And if i want to color them, how would i go about doing that?

But most importantly, if i want to get dreads, how do i keep my hard work of dreads in a job?

  • Hi!

I dont have that long hair, i have medium hair, but can i still have dreadlocks??

  • Please tell me that 3 1/2in. Are still possible to make dreads i just orderd the mega kit an need insperation plse help out!!!

  • hola quisiera saber si hablan español que precio tienen sus productos como el peine para enrastar y la cera espero su respuesta gracias

  • If you can't buy the wax you use ( don't think we have that in Norway..), is it OK to use normal hairwax?

  • expand to the US! (Arizona)

  • how does it usually cost to get dreds

  • I have afro textured hair and like 3 inches long, my question is, do i have to backcomb it to have my dreads or just twist it using Knotty Boy Dreadlock Wax?

  • Check out dreadcap.com also go to youtube and see dread cap review. Thank you and pass it on. Love your video.

  • lol i can't believe a year ago, i thought that this was the only way to get deads. how stupid of me. Folks please don't use wax . just stop combing your hair and keep it clean, it'll lock up naturally on its own. Check out my video for an example of 10 months neglect method

  • this is a video most definitely not recommended for those with ethnis hair...and by ethnic, i mean african american. Not that I'm tring to be racist but from experience, one can get dreadlocks with just half an inch of ethnic hair.

  • wow your really pretty !!!

  • he is so sexy with all that pretty red hair <3 i wonder if the carpet matches the drapes....

  • Where can I purchase that comb. I love your work

  • Everytime I see someone with locs I miss mine :( I wore mine for 5 or 6 yrs. I'm going to add this to my favorites. I'm sure my subscribers will find this very interesting :) Great video!

  • How can you remove the dreads? Do you have to cut it off ?

  • Hey i just made some dreadlocks and they look real nice, but some are really pointy at the ends, will it even out after i wash some of the wax out? (like i said this is my first week w dreads, havent even washed em' yet lol)

  • I have really thin straight hair. People say it's looks thick but I think it's thin, I would LOVE to have dreads, is this possible?

  • I have some questions for you dread pros out there.

First: I will admit I was inspired by captain jack sparrow, and I would like similar hair. He has about 10 dreads on each side, and the top of his head is regular loose hair over top of the dreads. I know he has a wig, but is it possible to have and maintain something similar?

Please any help would allow me to start sooner.

  • @Sonicthehedgehog73 YouTube comments are kinda wild, so we try not to answer questions or engage in conversation here, but we want to help you out - so please, check out the FAQs on our site, I know for sure the questions you seek are there. If not, drop us a line to the Contact Us email. And thanks for watching!

  • ::sigh:: i luv guys with long hair

  • How do you mean part the sections that are comparable to the hair type? My hair is not very thick but bc its medium curly, it adds this false thickness appearance. But I would like my dreads about pinky finger thickness. Is this a possibility?

  • @sallycheecha Yea, totally possible. Just make your sections pinky finger width and go from there!

  • ppl always say tht i would look good wit dreads and seein this, i think i mite do just tht :)

  • OMG are you guys out of reno? I LIVE RIGHT NEAR RENO?

  • @EvWuzhere No, we're in VANCOUVER, BC, Canada!

  • @KnottyBoyDreadStuff this is kind of sweet im coming by your place to do my hair ok? in summer hollyday 2011

  • Nice video. But it doesn't take this long for afro textured hair because you're not spending all your time back combing and tangling. all you need is gel and water.

  • hes a ginger he doesnt have a soul so its dread lock doestn count lol

jus kiddin good work love all

  • What is your opinion on the crochet method, I had it done and I am wondering if it would have made a difference down the road. My locs are about 6 monthes old and I have fine thick caucasian hair, I have alot of problems with combining, and loose hair. Would have your method helped me out, or was I right by usuing crochet to start them. I live with no regrets, I am just wondering the difference?

  • @Antivizen Thanks for the awesome question! Because of the overwhelming nature of comments on YouTube, we kindly ask you look through our website and email us your questions instead. Check out the Contact Us page. And thank you for watching!

  • how long does an african haired boy hair have to be to get dreads?

  • @tropicanacharm 2 inches! Most people with African-textured hair start dreads with twists. If you wanna backcomb you need at least 3 inches.

  • that redhead boy is fricken adorable! lol, sorry had to get that out of the way :P

  • he looks like dave mustaine

  • Asha Mandela world's longest dreadlocks

    youtube.com/watch?v=Z6eelpHsJSc

  • biggest guinea pig ever aha

  • I have really curly hair and it goes kind of afro-y :p Could I straighten it then dread or not? Or would I be better off doing something else? Thanks for your time :)

  • i like her

  • Newton Faulkner :D

  • He has beautiful hair...

  • I actually used the Twist and rip method and use no wax and mine are doing fairly well, i was wondering if u guys discriminate aganst people who choos natural against wax

  • @TheCrazyandHazy Of course not! We want people to make their own choices and do what they feel is best. Our website even includes instructions for both product and product-FREE methods on locking hair. Plus our products are totally natural, so we're actually all about it.

  • @KnottyBoyDreadStuff word cuz i had to comb mine out and my haitr is getting really long and i was going to buy some knottyboy stuff but the way the chik in their vid does that guys is slck if u ask me and ur results are bomb so i think when i get my confidence bak im going to do it... oh ya and the money for the kit haha

  • I did two in the front myself, an d i loved it!!:-DD Thnx

  • i just searched on the internet and found out that "the most durable and most natural dreadlocks are made using a crochet needle and without the use of wax!!! "

  • @chihuahuabebi Hey, you're totally right. Crocheting your hair really does give the fastest, tightest looking dreadlocks from the get-go, though they do stick out all funny at the beginning as well. However, crocheting your hair well is a skill that takes time and practice to master, so the method you see us promoting, is a more simple technique people can try at home without needing to learn any special skills. Thanks for watching!

  • @commonwealth96 dood you can have dreads with straight hair

  • i wanna do dreads and die it blonde but what should i do first

  • @christianignor die it first if you died it after then it wouldnt all be died because the knots inside.

  • @christianignor dye first then dreads

  • @christianignor Definetly die them first

  • I'm curious about something and I hope you could help:

When I got my dreads I didn't use wax (although I'm not one of those "I hate wax, it's evil!!" people), so therefore I knotted them up and backcombed them REEEAAALLLYYY thoroughly when I started them...like, they were already solid a day old backcombed.

Anywho, I was just wondering if your slightly lighter method of backcombing (it didn't look as intense) benefits dreads in forming?

    Thanks (:

  • @888riddim888 I don't know about the salon's experience, but in all the dreads I've ever done the better the back comb job the better they form.

  • @888riddim888 Backcombing as tightly as possible is always best.

  • first of all, i want to say fantastic video. it helps alot. i'm planing on getting dreadlocks, but i have very fine, thin hair. and i wasa just wondering how you would go about placeing the dreads, and how think you would recomend.

    -thank you

  • how long does ur hair have to be to get dreads???

  • yeah i LOVE YOU!!

  • I love this chick!!!!! I'd let her dredd me up!!! lol

  • How much does it cost to get them done?

  • your welcome slaxxer.

  • dreadlocks look cool, but i would never get them :o

  • Does somebody know how much these dreads cost?

  • @Akinachan1988 Everybody is different because of the unique state of their hair, but at our salon, we charge on average $300 for the first 6 hours. Please check the salon page on our site for more information! Thanks for watching.

  • I have really nappy hair. is that good for dreads? would it help them form faster?

  • @itsallgood239 yea dreads are meant more for nappy hair and not straight but they both can work fine regardless

  • @keinaan12345 is it possible with wavy hair cause i have that

  • If you do not mind looking like side show bob (what I have been called) then let it grow a little longer or invest in a good hat.

I am a white girl who had hair about 4 inches when I started, my dreads are two weeks today...Yay!

  • how long does my hair have to be for spider dreads..my hair is 2-3 inches

  • i can wait to get my dreadzz!! 4 more days to wait!!!!

  • whats the intro song?

  • Wish I could have dreads, but my hair is straight.

  • @Commonwealth96 You can still have dreads. My hair was dead striaght but I still got dreadlocks, it is a little bit more care though,

  • tnx 4 the help

  • I'm so excited to get my drealocks but i have so many questions about care and how and how much... one of my friends has done it before and says he can do it for me but i want to do it the all natural way no wax or anything i've seen how they do the needle style and i'm thinkin thats the way i want to go if anyone can help me i would really appreciate it

    THNX!! Moesy

  • i want dreads always have but i never have the money to get them done or buy the stuff for it

  • how many months of hair did he have?

  • Jamaican me crazy wit all dese instructions

  • im going to start off with not brushing my hair for like, forever.

and whatever sections that have naturally come together will be my dreads. yeah.

  • what about a job do you? what do you tell your boss?

  • i didn't know dave mustaine got dreadlocks

  • I've heard of dreading this way. I've also seen videos of doing dreads with a crochet hook. I think if I get dreads I'll do the crochet hook way. My hair is fucking knappy. I've had black people tell me I have knappier hair than them. The wax method seems like it would be better for someone with straighter hair. The crochet hook way seems like it would be better with my hair.

  • que gordita tan sexy

  • is it just me? or did she call him a guinea pig?? 00:25

  • im malaysian..how can i buy a dread wax from u??

  • does the wax make your hair stinky? I've heard people who have dreads say that it's better to use no wax.

  • god i wish my hair was like that.

  • man i hav ebeen thinking bout getting dreds my hair is long enough i just dont know

  • please! do not cake that much wax in! too much was can actually resist any natural locking and i have no idea why a dreadlock company like knottyboy would even suggest this let alone blow drying the wax in! (end of part 2) PLEASE DON'T OVER WAX YOUR DREADS! new or old, too much wax is bad news and you'll more likely cut off your new dreads before giving them a chance to really be awesome. rant over.

  • would it be possible to have dreds for a summer thing while out of school? For like 3 months?

  • Im thinking bout it to take dreads... bt I still don't noow surr ;;

  • YEAH BLUE CHEER!!!

  • i love blue cheer

  • aghhh i want em so bad!!!!! gotta let my hair grow about another four months though :(

  • dude ur not the only one man X*(

sept i got like 6 months to go

    lol

  • yeh same :(

  • my parents wont let me...

  • are you able to wash your hair after you get the dreads done, and how long after

  • @hawkdlb06 yes you are able to wash your hair!!

  • you have to wash them or they wont lock.

  • u can wait about a few days then u can wash as often as u want...hope this helps

  • after you get them i wold wash emdiatly before and wait 4 days after , so they can get used to being in place , kinda like when getting braids in and they are left in a while , they tend to be really wavy after taking them out ,, similar with dreads , but be very non aggressive when washing, hope i helped some ......

  • about a month

  • @hawkdlb06

for the first month you wash them once them leave them for 3 days and after the first month it up to you every day (more work tho looking after them) or every other day

  • I've had dreads for 3 years......this isn't incorrect bt that could look alot better than that......I wouldn't really knw bcuz I do have nappy hair, plus I'm African American .... We have more control over our hair bcuz it can be shaped easy....bt I do find women with dreads attractive especially the ones with stra8 hair

  • How long should you keep the wax in your hair for?

  • (im not too sure about these companies and their products) you only use a tiny bit of wax for each dread, and you wax every one or 2 weeks. Then you have to remove the wax and black people tell me (me a whitie) that I can't wash my hair because it will unravel. I'm getting dreads next week, so we will see if these companies are worth a crap.

  • I want dreads but I'ma chick n I'm worried I won't look good...Or I'll eventually have to shave my head ;/

  • you will look as good as the work put into the maintenance of the dreads. and you don't have to shave your head! thats a false rumor! you can spend a lot of work undreading all of your hair with lots of conditioner and a comb, or you can cut off about half to 1/3 of your hair out and not as much work getting them out. (also using conditioner and comb)

  • you would'nt have to shave your head if you have patience you can just continue to grow out your hair and just cut the dreaded parts off and I just saw your video 'hitting the bong' you have a cute face I think you would look good with dreads nice bong btw lol

  • In my opinion dreads are beatiful on chicks

  • same here=(

  • Nowadays there are "de-dreading" kits, they are a great alternative to cutting your hair...google knotty boy, they have absolutely WONDERFUL products!

    Good Luck! :)

  • @maxinemaniac

You can comb them out with the right shampoo so don't worry. I helped a girl get hers out ;].
