  • Stevie wonder is an inspirational legend...=)

  • nice!

  • Who is the other person singing with stevie?

  • @Gingerleeful The other singer is Keith John (real life son of blues legend Little Willie John and nephew of Dr. Mable John)

  • @Gingerleeful wow he sounds good...

  • This is the kind of music I miss in today's music.

  • why does he shake his head?

  • @nickthesmall66, it is one of his ways of "seeing". By moving his head in the rapid, figure-8 motion, he is using his hearing to pick up the way sounds bounce off of objects. It's been described as his radar system.

  • SING IT STEVIE !!!!

  • amazing song amazing music amazing improvisation amazing singer.

  • This is a great, great version of this song. As a Dylan fan, I obviously knew this song well and could see it was yet another example of his song writing genius, but it was never one I'd automatically turn to when searching through my ipod.

But this version, I love. I wasn't around to witness the civil rights movement, and I didn't realise the meaning of the first line in this song until now.

    Great song, great cover.

  • i don't like it but must say he prenounsed the song perfectly and what he sayed was totally true

  • thanks for posting!!

  • DA KING IN PERSON !

  • mr stevie wonder, bring it on it certainly is blowing in the wind.

  • Verry Nice Song

  • Great execution!!!

  • Wow thank you for posting this video

    beautiful

  • I've been a huge Dylan fan for years. Contrary to some postings here, this is actually the very best cover of this song ever. The crowd actually erupted at the end of this song and the mc said afterward, "It's only going to get better." Well, there were a lot of great performances on this night, but "better"? I don't think so.

  • @Clerkpro

You an I must have been separated at birth. I have the concert on VHS tape ( ! ) which I copied from a PBS telecast in 1994 and I refuse to throw away my VCR simply because the tape is the only record I have. This absolutely HAD TO BE one of the single greatest American concerts of all time. I would have given anything to have been there. The cast of musicians was astounding, as was the way G.E. Smith and the house band deferred to them

  • @MJLatora

I actually taped it while it was broadcast on HBO. I paid a friend who had HBO at the time and gave her a VHS tape to broadcast the event. Somehow I lost it over the years.

And you're right about G.E. Smith. You could tell his band was having a blast. And they didn't just rehash Dylan's versions, they made many of the songs sound new and fresh.

  • @Clerkpro If you watch the whole thing, you'll see Booker T. Jones ( quite the pianist ) give way to Stevie Wonder, you'll see G.E. Smith and no less than Steve Cropper " bow " to Johnny Winter & Clapton & Ronnie Wood & George Harrison & Neil Young and and and...............................Wonder's interpretation of Blowin ( and especially The O Jay's Cover of " Emotionally Yours " ) show the REAL genius of Dylan.....his songs can be performed in so many different ways, inspirational always.

  • Thanks Stive!!!!

    Fantastic!!!

  • can anybody please tell me WHEN AND where was this >??? i need to know ... i love this piece ...and the intro! Stevie Wonder !! :)

  • This was for the "30th anniversary" show for Bob Dylan, NYC, Madison Square Garden, October of 1992. Wonder makes reference to the upcoming presidential election. Some of the very best artists at the time came on and did covers of Dylan songs. It was great! GE Smith and the other band mates were fantastic. You can get the concert on VHS but as far as I know it hasn't been digitalized - I'm sure that's going to happen soon.

  • GENIUS!

  • stabbing in the hearth !!

  • LINDO LINDO LINDO *___*

  • This was a great concert 30th anniversary Dylan beautiful

  • i dont like it either

  • Can't forget about Keith John's backing vocals, which add a lot to this.

    Stevie really is incredible.

  • @RhythmBluesSoul1 ur rite there bro the backing vocals r wiiicked

  • I honestly think Bob Dylan himself would be utterly moved to tears by this version.

  • phenomenal.

  • Umas das melhores, se não a melhor interpretação da música de Bob Dylan!! Maravilhoso, perfeito, lindo!!! Stevie Wonder é demais!!!!

  • The best singer!! He is great!! He never back down... His life is music... excellent music just from his own heart ...

  • stevie wonder singing this bob dylan's jewel is a jewel itself.

  • FUCKING. BOSS. ENOUGH SAID.

  • nice shirt.

  • FIUCK YEAH!!!

  • the song starts just at 3:00

  • But it's good to hear the entire video.

  • that's also right ;-)

  • @DrummingMan13 the more important message is before that...

  • Keith John's backing vocals add a lot to this version as well.

  • (L) Stevie The Best Every!(L) I love your voice!!!!

  • the troy dylan . even better? . you are so fucking stupid . :D

bob dylan is so much better

  • gorgeous

  • This is an original by bob dylan and stevie makes it sound even better

  • really? this is bob dylan?

  • Matter Of Opinion Man

  • absolutamente hermoso

  • Stevie Wonder Rules the World! :) Perfect in every way.

  • I have this original 45 record from the 60's and have played it so often since then (even tho' it has a crack in it!).It always makes me groove.

It has that sound of "sweet soul music" from that era. Just the best arrangement and execution of this song.

    Good job Stevie Wonder!

  • wonderful thrilling trough my vains

  • Steveie Wonder's great voice and such beautiful song too! I love this version. 5 of 5 stars.

  • anyone know what key stevie plays on the piano ??

  • wonder once said in an interview, when asked how it was to be blind and be a musician, playing piano: "oh, it's not to bad, i mean, it could have been worse, i mean, i could have been black!"

    fuckin hillarious

  • what interview was that? where can i find it? =)

  • świetnie.

  • he plays piano like a good and still he's blind thats truly amaizing

  • Check out Sam Cookes version of this song.

  • Stevie "God love you" Wonder you are simply amazing. What will we do if you ever are not with us?

  • Stevie Wonder: The Movie!

  • crazy dude xD...keep control your ears man;-)

  • I love Dylan but stevie sing and play harmonica better than him

  • One can be a Dylan fan and yet not claim he is the best singer, harmonicist, guitarist, dancer, etc. At least, I think so.

  • WOW

  • adam david wilson1 that is fucked up thats not funny at all what if you were blind

  • A delightfully different approach to the original, and both are fantastic. What masters they both are!

  • Beautiful.

  • bob .d wrote it for the world but stevie sang it to the galaxies. incredible

  • Best cover of this version ever and it will always be! What a feeling, what a speech, what an emotion! Stevie, you nailed it and you made this song immortal - thank you!

  • you´re so material

  • You are just...STUPID!

  • Very tasteful.

  • Fuckin' love that song.

  • best cover i think!

  • I remember, all those years ago, watching this gig looking forward to Neil Young ( I wasn't disappointed ) but this track blew my head off. This is one of the great renditions of any track. 10/10. :)

  • ...still relevant !!

  • This is by leaps and bounds the best rendition of this song. And I've heard many. It seems like the audience was confused as to when to sing the refrain. Also, after this cuts out, an announcer comments that "it's only going to get better." Ah, no, sir, it didn't and it doesn't.

  • Great rendition's of Dylan's song...would have been PERFECT for today's inaguaration-CONGRAT'S to our new President-Barack Obama!!!

    Peace-

    Donna~

  • Brilliant

  • This LIVE performance was held at Madison's Sqaure Garden on Oct 16,1992 to celebrate Bob Dylan's 30th anniversary of his recording career-so a bunch of artist got together to sing his "songs"-I particularly ENJOYED this one the BEST!!!

Even Dylan said this was the BEST version ever!!!

  • llloooooooooovvvvvvvvvveeeeee yyyyyyyyyyyooooooooooouuuuuuuuu ssssssstttttttteeeeeeeeeviiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeee

  • Bob Dylan said Stevie Wonders version is the best he ever heard!!!

  • What talent, genius, and heart.

  • What a genius.

  • When I think of acts that stole shows, I think of the drummer from Santana at Woodstock along with Albert Lee from 10 Years After. During this concert there was this performance by Mr. Wonder, and of course Johnny Winter. The guy blew everyone away before he even tuned his guitar. The guy behind Stevie should get the best supporting "singer" award.

    Hunter
