So good to see people who are serious about the wellbeing of rabbits and I'm sorry for your loss.
I have adopted two rabbits from a local shelter and Mia has had so many problems. I'm so greatfull my vet cares so much. About 2 years ago I discovered an abcess on her right bottom jaw. Getting it fixed was difficult and expencive. The clinic payed for most of the operation while others thought she should be put down. I'm so lucky to still have her with me to enjoy her happiness and love every day.
Wow, what you guys did for the rabbit is really nice, im glad we have people like you in our world :) I do feel sad for it but I think itl be alright in your care!
I'm very sorry about her passing. I know how wonderful and loving rabbits are, and caring for a special needs bunny is never easy. One of my bunnies had a stomach problem and had almost constant diarrhea. I know how hard it is to take care of and clean up after bunnies that need extra help. Don't feel guilty though. You did a great thing for her by not giving up on her and giving her the best life she could have.
What a beautiful little bunny. Sorry for your loss! I'm looking to build something similar for my own bunny Spike and would really appreciate tips on how you made yours.
Can you please tell me if she had a broken back? My rabbit broke his back a week ago and the vet really wants me to put him to sleep. I am not sure what to do.
no her back wasn't broken, her spinal cord got pinched. we were also told to put her down, but we got a second opinion. it isn't easy caring for a disabled rabbit though, i would really consider talking to a small animal specialist and deciding whether or not you feel you can still give your rabbit a good life. bedsores are really hard to prevent in rabbits, and its hard for them to get enough exercise. i still carry a lot of guilt about my rabbit
I'm sorry to hear Lily passed away. You are to be congratulated for helping your bunny live a 'full' life. Lily's video and your suggestions are an inspiration to other rabbit owners!
be sure to stretch him out all the time and keep his cage extremely clean... Lily died from blood poisoning (i assume) because she got a big bedsore....
also, this may sound really silly, but a therapist recommended electrotherapy for the muscles to prevent atrophy (the "Dr. Ho" one would probably work well at a low level). I regret not knowing about it to take care of my rabbit.
My bunny has recently hurt his back, not sure if he is walking funny due to swelling or more probably that he has done something and paralyzed himself. He doesn't seem to be in any pain but I feel so sorry for him to be stuck in his cage when he is used to running around the house. I think the wheels u have made for Lily are great and I will try do something similar for my rabbit :)

My condolences on loosing Lily. Was her death due to complications from the paralysis? Lily is special and had a loving family.
