okay so i did everything that you told me to and i did everything others had said to do and my xbox still wont connect with my windows pc and it keeps telling me network failed. so what should i do?
@McLovin471 try disconnecting from every network except your wireless internet on your computer. then connect the ethernet to your pc and bridge. then try it. Also have you tried checking the sharing box. I show how to do it in the second step of my windows XP guide. It is very similar in vista. you shouldn't have any problems doing it that way.
@redbull9679 Yeah!!! my friend who knows alot about computers came over and he coudnt find out!!! later i might make a video showing how its not working. if i do il send it to some people and see if they know what to do!
heres the problem, with both my wireless AND wired connections, when I run an xbox love test, everything checks out up until the xbox live bar, which fills up quarter of the way, then the test fails. Any help?
i have a problem cause my local area connect is ok but the other one says that i need to and show a red x which means i dont have it connected plz help thanks
This works if you have a wireless modem from like sprint or something right? cuz when i got to right click to bridge connection it says none of them are connected and they have the little red x in the bottom left hand corner but i know its hooked up
i'm confused. because I did all of this and then i go to Connect to a Network and it says I am connected with limited access. i'm confused. please help
@rapidkid28 The Reason It Does Not Connect Is Because Your Xbox Is Connecting Through It To Get To Your Router So You Are Unable To Use Internet On Your Laptop/Home PC. Hope I Helped Reply Back If You Want Proper Information.
im not sure but i think that happens when ur computer falls to sleep....im not sure though....so once in a while tap the track pad....hope this helped
All You Have To Do Is Take Off Bridge Connection And Go To Your Wireless Network Right Click It Then Go To Properties And Then Go To Advanced And Click The Two Boxes Hope It Works PM Me For Proper Info
After following the steps, I get a msg saying "the attempt to obtain an IP address time out" what do I do now, help please, Modern Warfare 2 its waiting.
but the way im connecting to internet is different i have a bt home hub and i bought a router (sometimes called modem) and a dongle, the router wouldnt install on my computer so i plugged the router into my hub, and im connecting to the router with the dongle,
so there isnt a router for me to plug the cable into but theres a ethernet hole in the back of my comp, can i connect to live if i plug it into that hole? does it matter? thx
when i try to bridge the two connections it shows a message saying that, "in order to bridge the connections i need at least 2 LAN or high speed internet connections." HELP!!
this might be the problem. If you have enabled connection sharing you need to turn that off before bridging. To do that you need to get to the place that shows all your connections (0:27) and right click on wireless connection. Then go to properties and go to the advanced tab. Then you will need to uncheck the boxes.
i use a wireless connection using my windows vista and even though i have fast high speed internet i dont have the best xbox live connection... any help with how ii can have a faster xbox live connection
i make sure i'm not running any programs. i also have an expensive computer that can support giving internet to another devise (4gb RAM, 2.13 Ghz Centrino 2). Also, on the bar in the bottom right, make sure theres not alot of crap in the backround running there.
DOES NOT FOR WII, sadly, i tried this and it does not work. THERES NO ETHERNET PORT ON THE BACK OF THE WII, I FKING HATE NINTENDO, THEY FKING HAVE TO RIP PPL OFF FOR EVERYTHING.
the Wii has wireless capabilities, making this whole wireless set-up thing worthless. Just connect your Wii by going to Wii Settings in the lower right in the Wii Menu, scroll around for Internet Connections and done. I hate that the 360 has no built-in WiFi, yet the PS3 and Wii does.
a 14 ft ethernet cable from target is only 10 buck and i tried it out and it works fine. don't spend 40 pounds or whatever on an ethernet cable (sorry i'm not from england or where ever you're from).
yeh lol but i live next to a market, but the grass is always greener on the other side.. so you might hate where you live, you might like london,, and the same with me. i might like where you live. and i hate london.. i wanna go to the countryside..
the control button is labeled as ctrl on your keyboard. it should be in the bottom left side of your keyboard. click on the first connection and then hold ctrl and then click the second connection
I seem to have that same problem with the what ryokot12 was talking about, and yes i highlighted them both only an idiot wouldn't think of something like that. Plus disabling the firewall does nothing for this problem.
hey i cant connect because it says to create a network bridge you must select at least 2 Lan or high speed internet connection that are not being used by the internet.
does it say that you have to select two connections that are not SHARED. if so then right click on the shared connection (if you don't know which one try both). then go to properties. then click on the advanced tab. then make sure both of those sharing boxes are unchecked.
thnx for commenting

P.S. Sorry it took me so long to respond. i just realized what you might have been talking about.
it just says cant detect your router or modem and it fails before it gets to network. i have tried 4 different ethernet cables and nothing works. i called xbox people and they give me stuff that doesnt work
i did everytihing you said but my live isn't working. i made a network bridge from my laptop and i connected the ethernet cable to my 360 to my laptop. My live connection says it failed before it passes the network connection. What should i do?
wait a while after you bridge connections and sometimes the internet comes back. Also try restarting your computer and restarting your xbox. It might also be your computer speed. Maybe the computer isn't powerful enough to provide internet to two devices so it just shuts down. I'll see if I can find anything to help you on the internet.
cna u connect to xbox live with a external wireless thingy because my laptop wirless buggerd so went to repair shop and he said use a external thing but it shows the xbox on what internet connection i am on but when when i try to connect to xbox live it says there is no internet plz help me btw i am using eithernet cable
yes you can use an external wireless thing. that's what I use sometimes. It should work. Connect to the internet using the external card, and then bridge the connection with the external card and the xbox (local connection). You can also try another method which is in my one on how to connect using windows xp (it is the video response). It should work the same way for the alternative method. if it doesn't work i'll see if i can find a way that does
