Completely kick ass man. The only and closest I have ever gotten to these retro crunches is by using my electroharmonix analog synth pedal. Yet it takes a bit of time and effort to get there. Like a great early Sabbath bass crunch. Thanks for the post
@twinsmm1 John Wetton from King Crimson was the bomb! If you want King Crimson tones, I'd recommend trying the Foxx Fuzz Wah pedal, although it does have problems with the switches and various things breaking at the blink of an eye. A great sound when it works. Also, and perhaps even better, try a Tech 21 VTBass pedal, cranked up to the suggested "Crimson" settings as shown in the manual, and a Jim Dunlop White Bass Wah pedal. VERY WETTON! Awesome. (For luv, see Asbury Park USA live on YouTube).
Friend, your microphone cause interference in the sound. To do a good sample, try to use it away from the amp. Live sound seems to be very good, but in the record it's awful.
i wouldnt even call that fuzz...

Wow...... that sounded fuckin' unreal. I wish more bass players today used that kind of fuzz as part of their sound.

You had the brass knob cranked the whole time! I'd like to hear a few settings with the bass knob all the way up and just a little bit of brass.
