  • Great sound!

  • I played the trombone in HS, I was never this good and never knew the trombone could do this. You are amazing!

  • i like how it sounds i play trombone but i didnt know it could make those jazzy sounds I am doing a report on him and finding out how great he really is.

  • i like how it sounds i play trombone but i didnt know it could make those jazzy sounds

  • Man you all obviously don't listen to WG albums, he is the most versatile jazz trombonist out there and that's what makes him the best. Listen to his albums and you can hear something in each one. Anything from plunger to multi phonics 8th note lines. Wycliff can do anything on the trombone.

I personally like John Allred though and Marshall Gilkes.

  • Muito bom,ótimo trombonista!!!!!

  • Has anyone ever played four? This is definitely four. The changes are nothing like on green Dolphin street. I don't get why so many people are hating on this. Its a jam session. Just like all the other solos, you get up there and BLOW.

  • Rough.

  • IMPRESIONANT

  • i hope youre not talking about wycliffe.

  • That's Wycliffe Gordon playing you idiot!

  • you have no clue what you're talking about..

  • @Flextones cock

  • WTF 0:07? Hot girls at a jazz jam session?! Wycliffe Gordon's doing something right!!!

  • phrase, oups.

  • "four" by miles davies, and a frase from unforgettable at 1,08.

  • Of course, chicks dig trombone :P

  • muito boa essa loira gostosa gostosaa

very good that blonde girl.. delicious

  • look that hoooooooooooot blonde girl!!!!

in brazil we call that women BUCETAAAAAAA GOSTOSAAA

  • very nice.

  • muito gostosa a loira

  • ahhh, so relaxing -_-

  • unos pulmones pa est tio k no pued mas, k vasto k weno eres tio enorawena saludos

  • those r high notes, man!

  • ke dios bendiga a ese trombonista ...

  • I thought this solo sucked. I like the way he blows, but he basically just outlined chords one after another. Nice energy, nice chops, but what he actually played sounded like a beginner.

  • You're kidding, right?

  • He is great and I am a beginner; I know the difference.

  • Heh, the same as me... Started just 2 months ago... :D

  • Hey man if you don't know he is wycliffe gordon, he is actually the best jazz trombonist of the world, many of the things he does on solos only ccould be made by him, I invite you to see more Wycliffe Gordon videos and to be less arrogant

  • No one is the best in the world. He is ONE of the best in the world, but there are guys that are on the same level as Wycliffe. Conrad Herwig, Bob McChesney, Jeff Uusitalo, Bill Watrous, John Fedchock, Dick Nash. Any of these names ringing any bells?

  • Ya, but I'm not gonna lie. I hate Bill Watrous' tone. He sounds like butthole.

  • That's due to his "no-pressure" technique, it kinda sounds like mouthpiece buzzing in my opinion.

  • I listened to this clip *because* it was WG having been similarly disappointed by a different video clip. I stand by my original comments about this clip. Notice that I didn't say WG can't blow, but there was nothing special about this solo. Transcribe the solo and maybe you'll understand my arrogance.

  • Wycliffe is one of my favorite players. So soulful and fluent.

  • wow i wish i could play dat gud lol

  • what amazing talent!

  • Is the song on green dolfin street? i can't tell.

  • Pretty sure it's Miles Davis' Four. That's what they said in the comments earlier, anyway. I'd try myself, but I'm too lazy to go to the piano, heh.

  • i thought that that but the begging changes sound like gree dolfin street because it sounds like it goes 7 to m7 then to the 9th scale like green dolfin street

  • but i think you are right because that lick at 0:33 is four

  • Yeah, I played around on it. It's Four. Or something based on the changes, at the very least.

  • AMAZINGGGGGG

  • Play'd wit 'em at the Partrige Inn in the "AUG of GA.

  • wycliffe has alwase been and will be my hero and favorite trombone player ever!!! And thats a FACT!!!

  • Rough.

  • well done

  • I saw him a while back at the Lawrence University Jazz Festival. He was absolutely amazing!

  • OMG, he just became my new trombone God!!

  • Wow.. he just got done ripping the changes to four..lol Yeah he's a great player. Im in miami and i saw him playing with Delfayo and Slide... Simply awesome..

  • hes a great player. i saw him when he visted the philippines with wynton marsalis. hes good at the tuba too..

  • played with wycliff at iaje. and wow.

not to metion the loudest trombone player i ever heard.

    tastefully loud. I love it.

  • Yeah he is! I remember in the Festival at Savannah, he was doing this improv session, and played a high note so loud that people could hear it on the other side of the building, a floor down!

  • yea haha, he is loud as hell.

  • Yeah, you should try sitting right in front of him in jazz band like I did in high school for two years. He was amazing even back then and just a great human being.

  • Not my cup of tea, but he's a powerful player that plays from the soul and you've got to respect him for that.

  • Yeah! Jam Camp in June! I get to spend all week with Wycliffe. :)

  • See you there, man

  • Yeah, I've seen and played with Wycliffe 3 times. Just freaking SCARY, because he does something new EVERYTIME...

  • Saw him last night at a jazz festival....incredible...he also has an amazing voice, AND, unlike most instrument gods, a GREAT personality. This guys awesome.

  • yeah this guy is at my school tomorrow and there's a concert with him and my schools jazz groups this is gonna be awsome.

  • wycliffe is the best trombone player that has ever lived.

  • You OWN, did you think that all up on your own? amazing.

  • this guy is incredible, i played with his son cory wilcox in the florida all state band, watch out for wilcox, that kid's a BEAST

  • i was at that performance in tampa, i was in the all state band and we all watched you guys. kenton star spangled banner, coco, big swing face. lead trumpet player went to my school, and yea cory was a beast, some of the best high school trombone improv youll ever hear, coming from another trombone player
