Interesting how this movie was nominated for "Best Picture of the Year" in 1968, but it's director, the great William Wyler, was passed up for a nomination. Both awards that year went to another musical, "Oliver!"

It seems I saw this in the 70's maybe. It's really fascinating how they put this showstopping sequence together and what movies can present that the stage just can't. I still wonder how they got that shot of her singing on the train.

After seeing this film-whenever Ive ridden a train-Im singing ! For that shot I think they had a helocopter flying along and filming .
