The same thing will happen in boxing if he comes across any ranked fighter. For the record, the two guys he's fought so far are unranked cruiserweights - even worse than fighting a journeyman fighter or a tomato can.

@atlscribe Your statement is somewhat true. Pesonally I think Kimbo should never have been in MMA. None of his internet fights where MMA Style. They were Pretty close to Bare Knuckle Boxing. I dont think He will be the best Boxer But he will do well being that He is more at home in the boxing ring than the Octagon. Also its better to fight journey men before you take on world champions. It builds your confidance as you move up in the ranks. Confident fighters normaly become great fighters

@1BREAL353 Agreed. I don't get why he went the MMA route either. He was already 50% a boxer, and about 5% an MMA fighter. Perhaps he thought he could pick up the other skills more quickly than he did, or felt that MMA was the future rather than boxing. Either way, he made the wrong choice. Boxing is a much better fit for him. Plus they can stack a few fights for him, to get him up and running.

@jxcream Absolutely not. Boxing is more of a sport that requires a large amount of natural gifts that you can't train. MMA allows more techniques that can be picked up and perfected. The rule of thumb in striking vs grappling is that you can become a grappler but you have to be born a striker.
