I LOVE this movie. I think it's one of the sweetest love stories around. I love that they look "real"...how many of us look like Angelina & Brad...or Ellen & Portia? I saw this when it first came out, and to this day, I think the first kiss between the two main characters is one of the truest 1st kisses around. You have to understand when this was filmed...who the writer/director was, etc. I haven't seen in in years, but it was a groundbreaking indy film at its best.

I don't like this film. Oh look, we're gay so let's spend our lives talking about being gay, because that's all we can do. It perpetuates the stereotype that gay people are trying to avoid - for 'gay' to be their only label. Thank God films have managed to get past that and move on more since the 1990s, haha.

@AlinaAnn I thought this film was mildly interesting. But yes, the acting is VERY bad. The woman are almost all unattractive. And all they do is sit around and talk about sex. So boring. Why such a big fucking deal about not having sex with ten months? And why does cute Max hook up with such an ugly woman? Surely she can find someone more attractive than the butt ugly Ely to have sex with. Their sex scene is enough to make the viewer vomit.
