tommy you my boy dude bc of ur party man we got gigs dude fucking sick bro. and bobby kid nice man i had no idea u lived in waterford i do too lol, i love skynyrd i have been around it my whole life i play tje drums iv been playing since i was 2 and i am 19 now .
Your good kid but you still have alot of dues to pay. Consider yourself lucky if you could just walk in the shodow of the late and great Allen Collins! R.I.P. Allen
I think he's paying his dues now, and very well at that. Bobby was 13 when this was recorded. Try to find another 13 year old even close to his playing ability. There are many that will never play the slide as well as he does now.
Hey kid, you are doing damn good for your age! Your still not fully "developed", and playing stuff like this will get even easier by the time you are grown. I build Gibsons for a living and play one in one of Nashville's best classic rock/southern rock bands, and I have to say that you are going to be somebody...keep it up!!
Sometimes a person comes along who just has raw and natural talent. Your guitar cover would make Gary R. say "holy crap!!" Keep rockin man, this was awesome.
sorry for the comment about the slide thing omg you can rock it like it is should be done. you keep making me sh.... like this and you will have me wearing depends!
As I said the guitar is great, especially for a guy of your age, but now you've mastered the physical side of it (which is the hard bit), now you need to get right into the spirit of the song and try and recreate and convey the feelings and emotions of the song. You obviously know the song inside out, so instead of thinking about the notes, and each individual lick, think about the solo as a whole and how you can make it all flow sweetly, and make the hairs stand up on peoples necks.
No problem mate, I'm glad you found it useful, I'm 20 now and I've been playing music all my life, first piano then guitar, and I've only just found out this is where I have been going wrong. Even with piano, I was just playing the notes, and inside I felt nothing. But now I get so much more enjoyment out of playing, it's like a natural high, and it's a much better high than any drug, and a lot better for you aswell. The more you take, the better you get!
me and my tribute band have been playing this song for years, then one day we all sat down and listend to it for 5 hours straight and we were 10x better, dont copy the music play how you feel and feel what you play great job
Hey good job dude, that was sick. How long have you been playing? You could do with a new singer though, that guy is tone deaf, hasn't got a very good singing voice, and shouts all over the solo. If I was you I'd either get myself a new singer, or at least get that guy to take some vocal lessons, also don't get me wrong, the guitar is great, but there are a few things you could work on. I haven't got many characters left so i''ll start a new comment...
You're tremendous for 13. Keep playing and practicing and you could make a great living with this, but stay in school at least until you get a HS diploma and stay away from drugs!
You know, if the damn singer had an ounce of timing, or pace, or metronom-ish skill, B.C. wouldn't have had to wait for him to catch up. But, usually, a few cold ones tend to make some of us think we're better than we are. Bobby, you are a talent to be reconed with and you deserved a smarter singer for this outing. You sounded great, tho! Keep practicing. Keep practicing. Keep practicing. The rock-and-roll world is your oyster! Good Job!
bobby... dude... you're gunna be awesome... prodegy, even... seriously, though preforming at bars wont get you anywhere. you gotta expand so more people can notice you. preform at bigger place, you get more attention
actually playing without a band behind you is probably 10 times harder. you don't have everything right in your ears
Bobby, great job, on everything. You are excellent and an inspiration to people of all ages. Keep rockin bro, I would like to see you play Am I Losin', sweet solo there.
Hey Bobby how do you set your amp up to get that sound like Skynyrds live recording of freebird? Are there any processors, effects, or pedals that you use?
Honestly, you're ok. For your age I guess you could be great. But you should start playing the rhythm before you go into the solo. You go from slide, to nothing but the backing track, and that kinda kills it. Sounds great, but theres nothing like a real band behind ya instead of a backing track.
hey bobby its me zak whats with this party thing thas goin on? anyway, u sound great i would love to jam with u sometime. i know some skynyrd on guitar but now u can teach my anything. Peace
troythebassplayer is right, u should get a skynyrd tribute band together, i would love to play guitar with u in that band, we don't really live that far away i live 30 miles out of buffalo,ny. and where u live is right on the other end of the state so, when i'm able to drive (if my parents ever let me) i come to where u live and stay for a week, maybe i can come down over the summer for a weekend, me and u would sound great together....... the classic fender/gibson style of lynyrd skynyrd.
nice job. I enjoyed it.
