I don't think that its SOLELY up to the drummer to make people want to dance... I mean you cant listen to anything by Nat King Cole or Oscar Peterson's Trio (without drummers at all) and say that it doesn't make you want to boogie. I think all drummers should be able to contribute to making people want to dance, as well as be able to make people want to dance by themselves playing, but in the end, I think it's the excitement and energy created by the group that truly makes people want to groove.

@cashendley ... a valid point , but think about it this way ...if the band is slamming but the drummer sucks then nobody is going to dance ... conversely , if the band is mediocre but the drummer has a fantastic groove , the people will dance
To anyone who wants to learn how Daniel developed his ability to understand and play these classic styles (and incorporate them in a modern context), check out his book "The Commandments of Early Rhythm and Blues Drumming" that he co-wrote with Zoro. You'll learn that Daniel wasn't born with this ability but developed it through disciplined study and practice of deceptively simple grooves. It's a history study and instructional method combined into one. Happy listener-reader. (No affiliation.)
@dwsabianguy I didn't even think about that, I'm a lefty but I play a righty kit. I guess it's a toss of the coin, you either play open hand with a right bass or crossed with a left depending on how it feels
WoW he's really amazing i really don't listen at all to this kind of music but i really appreciate this ! this guy is totally right, drummer should make move people, or make an effect on them, this guy has something totally unique in what he's doing here
@StickyyWinklee Ian Paice would not make you feel uncomfortable. he's one of the greatest ever and doesn't look awkward like this guy. Listen to The Mule by Deep Purple. DanGlass seems more like an educator, not a performer. Very old school.
I got to go to one of his clinics, and I must say this guy is a genius!
