Think about the stuff that your breathing in when 6-7 people are tromping around a room with three inches of fine dust on the ground.. Consider getting a filtered respirator at your hardware store or at least a cheapo particle mask
Especially for crap like asbestos, mesothelioma is literally uncurable, and you might not know for like 20 years.
Sorry I don't mean to be a bummer it looks like youve been in some cool places
The whole thing has some pretty neat camera work now and then, don't ask me what exactly I liked about it, I think it's staying on a level of documentary camera but there's something unique about it at the same time. I'm into UE a lot too, I think my videos tell you that much, though, I found the voice of that host very unnerving ;)
It is a fair question. When taking a camera crew in who may not be as "hard core", sometimes compromised need be made. And a site should be interesting to look at on video as well.
my friends and i do both, active refineries and factories, as well as abandonments. i don't really see one as any more "hard core" than the other, they both have their hazards (active: high risk of security, police, fumes, abandoned: mold, dust, collapse, hobos, low risk of security and police). All explorers will take different levels of risk, so it depends.
Very well done....you should visit the site entitled "Deserted New Jersey" Seeing How YouTube Blocks url insertion. I would suggest searching Google with the search terms " Deserted NJ "
that looks like a great place to get TRASHED in, and stel everything in sight. Was there anyone in there who knows how to get to the paris catacombs? Just kidding. Excellant video.
Interesting that cops weren't mentioned as a hazard. Here in the states the biggest obstacle to my doing stuff like this is getting arrested (or possibly shot) for trespassing.
That five minute video sums up UE perfectly, very well made, edited and directed. Just shows how urban exploration means exactly the same to people the world over. I've not done any for a few months but that has made me want to go out and so some tomorrow.
Our group site is www.DKPhotoGroup.com . We're looking to take our gallery shows on the road eventually, but for now they are just in the Toronto area. If you know a gallery that might be interested in hosting a show, please pass along their contact info.

how come the majority of urban explorers choose old boring stuff (as i see it). Doesnt the elite focus on new places (maybe more illegal)?
