  • C - VITAMIN C...am i too late? lol

  • wowwww. she lost over a stone. thats amazing!

  • If you lose too much weight too fast you can lose muscle mass. Depends are your diet and how much protein you intake and how you work out. If you do weight lifting its less likely.

  • Being ill makes you lose weight, i dont know why that is but it happens to everyone.

  • There's nothing wrong with their diet. It's come out recently that TBL-US has been doing things like dehydration and padding the contestants with plastic bags during exercise and other times to make them loose more weight. Also, they're on extreme diets in the US - 1200 cal for the women. This year they had a 400lb man on an 1600 diet. With the exercise they were doing that's star ation

  • 2 pounds? That is pathetic. I can lose 1 pound per day by NOT BEING LAZY. These people need to stop crying and suck it up.

  • the two that get a minifridge in their room are the two who lose the most? :L

  • Wow these weight loss amounts are like the US week two! Disappointing, they must be eating wrong.

  • I like the fact that tbl uk do not have the women take off their shirts, i always felt that was unneccesary.

  • @sailorkrissy

I don't even get why the men have to do so...

  • @sailorkrissy

well they should make the men keep on their shirts too then though.. not fair. a shirt can add like half a pound.

  • @JharMarAye Those scales they weigh on are only for show. They're weighed backstage, beforehand. So keeping the shirt on or off doesn't really make a difference in weight loss.

  • @toontownwiz2

    Ohhh, okay. :)

  • I've never seen a Biggest Loser weigh in that had such a massive range of weight losses. What happened?

  • Miriam has stunning legs, a lovely face, and a really sensible outlook on weight loss. Go Miriam!

  • wow michelle did well considering she was one of the smaller people. epic.

  • maria has got the sort of smile tht u fink is fake buh sometimes she is happy with sumin and smiles liek tht :s confusing

  • is it just me or they really dont loose that much weigh ... at leats for the FIRST WEEK !!! i can believe some of them only lost 2 pounds !!!

bob from season 4 of australia lost 13 KILOS the first week ! thats 28 pounds !!!

their biggest lost what like 15 pounds or something !

  • Season 4 of US, Jerry lost 31 pounds in the first week, and he was 62!!

  • which is exactly why i dont understand how the UK contestants can lose such a small amount of weight

  • @magpielou And Michael of Season 9 lost 34 pounds in week 1!

  • i like season 4 with meaghan and julie

  • i really dont like this stone/pound system. im not used to it, it messes with my head.

  • oh hang in there 14 lbs=1 stone, the math will keep your HALFzeimers away, ha ha

  • Weird... Dave and Miriam seemed to work harder than just about everyone else. And they only lost 2 lbs!

  • miriam was a lot smaller and female, so she would be ex;pected to loose less, perhaps still more than 2lbs but she isnt massively overweight so slow progress is no bad thing. but for someone of daves size, i dont understand a 2lb loss at all!!!

  • I don't think they should have elimination just a weigh in , b/c not everyone's diet is going to work well.

  • I can't believe Raz is Lisa's mother. I thought they were sisters in the beginning. Raz looks maybe 35 years old, at most.

  • Most of the numbers are really great, they have only been working out for 5 times!

There's a few duds in there, but let's not overexaggerate!

  • I agree there are some great numbers :)

There is a higher proportion of smaller numbers though, compared with other first weigh ins.

Perhaps in terms of diet especially they're easing them in...less shock to the system!

The works outs too.....they were threatened with going to the gates if they didn't sweat enough. LOL...the gates?? They're not even uphill!

I do think they're easing in - also don't think that's nec. a bad thing - but it does account for some of the numbers. :)

  • this is so weird weight loss compared to usa and aus weight loss its nothing they are losing

  • Maybe their "weeks" are not as long as Aussie "weeks"?

  • something's terribly wrong with their diet!

  • It is hard to say. I don't think we're seeing the whole picture here. I think losing weight at a slower rate is more beneficial in the long run. Possibly most of these contestants didn't waterload before the first week, as has been known to happen in the U.S. and Oz versions.

  • You are right that losing more slowly is better. And I don't doubt that some ppl may waterload before the first week. But, I've seen all but one season of the US version and the latest season of the Aus show. Bigger numbers were across the board with practically all the contestants. I can't imagine that every person from every season of ever international show waterloaded.

I still think its their diet.

  • I just want to add, that when you are overweight, as I am, usually, you don't know a lot about cooking with good ingredients (if you cook much at all) and making good dishes. You HAVE to be taught how to USE those ingrediants to make flavorful dishes. Otherwise, you are just staring at a bowl of raw carrots. LOL!

  • they could have gone to the loo and lost 2lbs!

  • omg, what is with these numbers? they suck a lot.
