  • Beautiful!. I consider the Jazz European Trio of the best ever. It's descendant from the Evans/Jarrett lineage, but totally different altogether!. All three Dutch players are fantastic...though pianist van Roon stands out!. Amazing reharmonizations and playing ease, swing all along!. Very tasty "out" playing. Superb!

  • @unclejunglebass i think they are collective of great musicians around eu,the ones sitting behind the band also

so i think the name suited ok,but not that good ,i agreed

  • Ugh, I do not like that ride cymbal all the way to the right that he keeps playing on. I wish he'd stick more to one of those that shimmer. It's a great take on the tune though.

  • What kind of music is this called. It seems cool. I was looking for a movie preview but this works fine. :)

  • wow! great rendition. love it!

  • Goosebumps at 4:09!!!

  • I like the sound. Very clear. The 3 musicians are definitely on the same page.

  • nice job!!!

  • I like the rhythmic ideas with the piano

the groove pauses a little too much though.... as a soloist that would aggravate me

I kind of agree with slapmyfunkybass

  • not sure if it swings too great and it can lose direction a little during the piano solo... nice playing and all but the bottom line is its gotta drive... listen to monty alexander do his version of this track in the 70's to hear what i mean... keep up the playing tho, always nice to hear a jazz piano trio

  • @slapmyfunkybass I agree and sort of disagree... I do think it swings, but not in a traditional sense of 4 on the floor slamming quarter notes on the bass. European jazz has a much different vibe. And while I do agree about the drive (I'm a jazz bassist and Ray Brown does it for me), in this context it wouldn't be right.

  • @bassist1627 I do agree.. the fluidity of not sticking to straight 4s when walking can really open things up. It is quite 'European', possibly, but then what about Eddie Gomez or Scott LaFaro!? I think this kind of swinging gets a lot from Bill Evans, running through Jarrett's trio etc

  • too heavy movie!!

  • reminds me of keith jarrett!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • beautiful version. Watch the guy in the background at 2:30. He's so funny!
