tabdoinit -- your right -- this ain't Chic. But considering that Bernie Edwards has passed on, it'd be pretty hard to see the core of the band performing live again. This is from 'Nile Rogers' Chic' -- minus Tony Thomson and the much-missed Bernie -- can't really blame Nile for trying to make a buck or two for his retirement.

Still, this still represents a nicely inspired performance from all involved - I wish I had their chops, I'd be a happy man!!!

The only "original" Chic contributor in this video - besides Nile of course - is Fonzi Thornton, who regularly provided background vocals on Chic's biggest hits. He's the guy singing between the current vocalists (Sylver Logan Sharp is on his right with the long red hair). Interesting how Sharp commends the crowd for "knowing the lyrics to every song" when she had just as much to do with the original recording as they did: nothing. LOL.

It's been almost 35 years since Chic formed... members change. I don't know where the original singers are, but for all we know they might've died -- sadly, that's what happened to Bernard Edwards, during a tour no less :-( .

And saying they're "whored out" is pretty extreme. Is it because one of the singers is showing some midriff? It's not like they're wearing hot pants and bikini tops.

I'd love to see the original members, too, but you can stop time.

It is with OMAR HAKIM, the original original drummer of Chic. He came right before Tony Thompson but was replaced by him. And FONZI THORNTON, original male Chic backing vocal. So a good band nevertheless. Even without Bernard. Nile's still there.
