I'm just throwing this out there but, all of these unusual medical issues, whether it be this one, or from many others, dont you think that these may be directly related to the CHEMICALS IN THE FOOD THAT WE EAT?!?!?!!! Americans are suffering from more sicknesses and illnesses than what people suffered from 50 years ago! We need to find the root of the problem, not band-aid the causes from them!
I have Turner Syndrome, a rare chromosomal disorder that only effects 1 in every 2,500 live female births. It can be fatal, but mainly not... my sister has Down Syndrome, as well... I like this idea!
One of the causes of infant mortality in Virginia is reckless medical care and the Virginia Board of Medicine closing their eyes and doing nothing. Maybe if we could get rid of some of the corrupt medical boards and governors protecting them, then perhaps doctors could be held accountable, which would lead to better medical care and less preventable deaths of infants. Maybe also our government could devote funds to this important cause rather than STDs in the stimulus package.
If not for the research of you all, my baby girl would not be here today. Born at 1 lb 5 oz, she was not given a very good chance of survival, but thanks to an injection of surfactant and everything that the doctors did - she's here today - a happy, mostly healthy 1 year old! I am forever grateful for you March of Dimes and I will walk EVERY year for it!
We could save 25% of the population if the abortion rate was not running at that figure. (And in Australia you can abort to 25 weeks). There seems to be terrible contradiction in our treatment of the unborn: if one is worth saving, then surely all are, or maybe the logic of some is that babies are more like pets, for the benefit of the owners rather than being of a value greater than their parents whim.
Let's take a look at the mortality rate of children born to women who have never used birth control. Let's take a look at the statistics of women who used vs. never used birth control who need fertility doctors and intervention to become pregnant. Then take a look at the infant mortality rate of the fertility patient babies. Lastly, let's take a look a look at cesarean section rates and the correspondence to mortality rate. Natural approaches to pregnancy & delivery are far, far more successful

does anyone count aborted babies? seems like their mortality rate is fairly grim...1 out of every 1 die. until the unborn are as protected as the rest...we won't get anywhere!
Great job!

the usa should give more to the poor children in africa that die from starvation unnecessary
because its injustice that they have nothing to eat and usa eat meat everyday and the children are toofat. share with the poor
that s the answer
thats my opinion

How come USA, "the most advanced coutry in the world", got more than twice as big infant mortality rate as Sweden does?

Do you think the increase in infant mortality has anything to do with artificial insemination and older women getting pregnant?

How young do they mean when she said that they can hopefully save "younger and younger babies" in future through their research?

The age of puberty for girls plummets. The rate of prematurity rockets. Anyone with a Ph.D see the connection?
