I saw him 5 times. He plays at the Havana in New Hope Pa quite a bit. Twenty bucks! An opening act as well. Great every time. Forget cowboy chords. He plays chords I never grasped. Dude can solo!
Johnny a fabulous guitarist. I saw him open for Jimmy Vaughan at the Culture Room in Ft. Lauderdale back in like 2002 or so, and it was honestly one of the best live guitar acts I've ever seen. Sometime Tuesday Morning is a good album, but his live renditions of those tracks blew the album versions out of the water. He writes beautiful songs, and has a very smooth feel (especially on those interesting chords).
Response to FPMIII... Live material will come.. Johnny had a falling out with Steve Vai after signing a 5 year exclusivity contract on his label.. He's just waiting for the 5 years to end (later this year) before releasing anything, Watch for at least a live DVD later this year :)
To those of you who think he's not the real deal.. get real.. Johnny has more talent than 99% of the players out there. to compare him to shredders isn't really a comparison.. This guy is pure talent, not lightning scales talent, but pure soulful master of the instrument talent..
This guy is a good player, but really, there are tons of guys at least this good. I see local guys in Detroit that no one ever heard of that can play at least this good, and in some cases obviously better. Not trying to knock this guy, but no way is he in the same league as a Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, or Eddie Van Halen.
Easy now. Satch asked him to play on some of the G3 tour dates. Johhny has a very full palate. He can play many different styles flawlessly. Jonny Antonopolis is the real deal. A freakin great player. And if you play guitar a f*ckin nightmare.
I definitely heard some Ohio Players ("Skin Tight" followed by "Fire").

While it's great seeing it on here, there is no comparison to being there when he plays it. Johnny is a god!
