  • Haha class! I built a similar device but instead of using the metal bearings to complete a circuit, I have a webcam mounted underneath the table. It detects the colour and position of coloured gumballs on the grid and plays a corresponding sound loop. I wrote a tutorial on how to code the software or you can download it. See my video for more details...

  • @GumballDrumMachine cool - nice project, I like the improvements you've made on the gumball sequencer project (especially putting the webcam underneath to prevent occlusion)

  • This is kool that you made a small one but you did rows of 3. You should have done rows of 4 as in 1/4 quarter notes. So it would be a bar. With 3, your missing 1 note.

  • first.. ever heard of 3/4 ?

and second.. these are loops per hole, which have nothing to do with being 4/4 3/4 or whatsoever :D :D

but this is some cool stuff.. i can imagen a huge panel with holes.. man that would be soo awesome

  • it doesn't control timing. it's basically turning on one of the nine prerecorded tracks. it's like a super simple mixer with just on or off for each track...

  • @deanrys yeah exactly why any other ball-less controller would be sufficient

  • i want 3

  • This is some amazing stuff pete glad your from belfast now i can use you as a great example for something good thats came out of this little place

  • Wow that was a sweet song

  • i don't see none of you haters inventing anything. it doesn't matter if it's pointless, the thing is dude made this and it's pretty darn cool! i wouldn't even know where to begin trying to make one of these.

  • wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooohhh

    GEILLLLLLLLLLLLLL

  • It's the art in building something with your hands, man.

  • yeah, what he/she said.

  • bah i want one :)

  • o.o interesting. yet again no point to having an instrument like this?

  • I think it'd be a more intresting way of brainstorming for dj's/artists etc

    Think about it

Would you rather fiddle on a computer?

Or put some bearings in a slot?

    More interactive.

But yea, pretty pointless overall XD

  • yeah, with the use of maybe the Lemur as the exception, stuff like live and FL and reason are just super annoying to learn on your own

  • 00:42-00:48... it's a ball in the middle hole of the last line. but u can't see it on the screen ^^

  • Thats COOOL !!!

  • thats amazing

  • awesome! you should make longer vids!

  • 00:42 - 00:48

theres a ball in the middle hole of the last line but you cant see it on the scree

  • Ohh no! :P

  • what are you talking about? you can see it on the screen

  • where can u buy dis

  • it still a prototype.

  • wow sounds like sombody is going to become fameous :) (yeah my spelling sucks)

  • sounds like revenge of the nerds or something.

  • cool

  • uyfrtdvut

  • plz plz plz sell it but if you do sell it be sure to make it able to hook up to the computer so we can get more beats

  • Thats is cool! I saw ur other video that got featured and IT WAS AWESOME! U should sell these machines!

  • Spacca!!

  • how can all of you bein amazed for that... nobody knows a sampler (I do not say it is a bad stuff, it is well donde, interesting interface, funny, but not very practical)

  • It would be simpler to just make the holes toggle buttons. This is just a glorified midi machine.

  • I want one of this..where can I get one ????

  • oh god no, don't make the production of electronic music as simple as putting ball bearings in sockets - it's bad enough as it is with some 'music' being made by people who've had to actually think about how to make it first.. Lol

    Nah seriously, good job, interesting!

  • what is the benefit of that?

not trying to be a jerk

i really just don't see it

  • I agree, seems like a neat to play with for a weekend then put in your closest and forget about.

  • Watch his other beat bearing demo....you'll understand where this is going.

  • You're amazingly cool

  • I will buy that! Very clever!

  • where can we get all your products thats a better question

  • this is awesome where can we get this?

  • NIIICCCEEEE

  • nice ;)

  • DAMN SHIT !!! /watch?v=7EvxE4QV67s

  • LOL!!

  • lol

  • it coast 1000€ +

  • dude, its a prototype... and it would cost a 100$ max, not more.

  • NoiseMakerX:What do you mean by that? Do you know how much it costs? If yes, tell me where I can get it.I don't care about the price...if it's not a million! xD Thx

  • what name of this system is it ?

where i can get it ?

    how much about for it/

  • Bajzon88: I dont think you've got enough "about" to get it.

  • that sounds so cool! where can i get the whole song? :)

  • ahahahahahah RLY? lol

    nice work mate! awesome projects!

  • dumb question... this is an experiment.

  • awesome!
